The sound of my house shoes sliding across the wood floor was the only thing heard in the silent apartment.

I wanted to make as much noise as I could, being that I was still upset at how Marcus came at me last night.

Call me petty... it is what it is.

Grabbing the broom from the closet I began sweeping the floor and turning on the water to start the dishes.

Marcus groaned sitting up from the couch, running his hands down his face. "I'm up, shit." He said standing to his feet stretching his long arms out.

I rolled my eyes at his voice as I swept the little bit of trash into the dust pan. Tossing it into the trash can I turned the water off placing the dishes into the water.

I stood behind the counter playing as if I didn't just wake this man up on purpose.

"Morning." His raspy voice spoke, walking toward the bar table in front of the sink.

I remained silent not looking at him as I continued to wash dishes. "So you just gonna ignore me, I said good morning."

"I heard you, Morning."

Kissing his teeth he sat in the seat before me. "Man, what's wrong now?"

"Nothin."

"Cap, I wake up to tension so thick that I could cut it. I can feel it in this whole apartment, you wake me up being loud sweeping the floor hella hard, running water, doin all this shit while I'm sleep on the couch just a couple feet away. You was tryna wake me up on purpose. I say good morning you wasn't tryna speak so wasup?"

I wrapped my hand around the kitchen counter for support as I looked him into his eyes. "I find it funny how you was trippin last night about my dad being mayor. You acting like I asked him to be mayor. And you accused him of being cool with the police officer that arrested you because you made a dumb ass decision to sell drugs. I stuck a lot out on the line for you Marcus with my parents, my job, spending money on you while you were in jail I didn't deserve any of it." I semi yelled.

Marcus sighed as he remained silent. "You right, I was trippin and I'm sorry. It's just with yo parents judging me and going off based of my past that just got to me. You didn't deserve anything I may have said last night. You  have done a lot for me and I'm honestly sorry baby. Sometime I can talk out the side of my neck. I'm sorry."

"Mhm, okay."

"I am."

"I hear you Marcus."

"Baby, I'm for real. You know I wouldn't do anything to hurt  you."

"I don't know Marcus, this is our first little fight or whatever you want to call it since you've been out."

"I know, I know. It's gonna be better look I'm sorry for everything. For what I said, for going off about my past and how yo parents just blew me with what they had to say. And yo mama.. she ain't like me from the moment she opened the door."
