Two month later...
"That's the one!" I smiled, staring at the dress in awe.
"You think so too?" Chanel asked, turning back toward us before looking at her reflection in the mirror.
"Girl No! That's isn't cute at all, we are not about to let you walk down the aisle looking old school." Alisha, Chanel sorority sister spoke.
I rolled my eyes standing to my feet as I placed the champagne glass to my lips. "Alisha I know you think the world revolves around you, but this isn't about you or how you feel it's about Chanel. So how do you feel about the dress Nellie?"
"Whatever Aris." Alisha spoke as she mumbled under her breath walking away from us.
I watched as Chanel spun in the dress with the biggest smile.
"Awww Aris not you crying! Stop your gonna make me cry!" Chanel fake pouted poking her bottom lip
out as she lifted the front of the dress a little showing as she stepped off the stage walking toward me."Girl I didn't even realize I was crying." I chuckled. "You look so beautiful. I was just thinking about how when we were younger playing dress up in my mom's closet and look at us now, my bookie is about to get married." I smiled wiping away tears.
"I know right." Chanel giggled, as she slid her index finger under her eyes wiping her tears. "It's finally happening I'm getting married I still can't believe it."
"Ladies, ladies it is only a fitting save the tears for the wedding." My mother spoke as she strolled toward us handing both of us a couple of tissues.
"So, what do you think of the dress Chanel?" My mother asked as we stood near her waiting for an answer.
Chanel eyes roamed the room as she smiled at us and her other friends. "I'm saying yes to the dress!" Chanel excitedly answered.
"Ayeee! She said yes to the dress! She said yes to the dress!" I danced around Chanel we all laughed.
"I love you Chanel, but thank God you finally said found a dress because I am starving!" Melanie another friend of Chanel's spoke.
"Yes I agree! Can't believe you have us starving we've been in this shop for hours my stomach is touching my back." Another friend of Chanel's spoke.
"Hey! I will not be dress shopping with a full bloated stomach so thank you ladies for waiting." Chanel smiled. "Now we can go eat."
"One moment, Chanel!" My mother called for her as they made eye contact before walking toward the cash register together.
Chanel friends paid them no mind as they talked amongst each other, taking pictures. I stood a distance back watching as my mother happily pulled her black credit card from her purse before handing it to the woman behind the counter.
Chanel smile widen as she and my
mother hugged before her lips mouthed a 'Thank you.'The sound of my phone ringing took my attention away from the two as I stood trying to get to my phone which was at the bottom of my purse.
By the time I got to it whoever it was had hung up. Tapping the screen I saw the missed call
notification on the screen showing that I had missed a call from Marcus.
