The week had ended.
The house was quiet without Kaeya around so I decided to go out for the day. I was currently back in town and shopping. It had been a while since I'd done something like this.
One nice thing about this area of town was it was all shopping. The shops were small and lined the streets so they were easy to get to.
I bought a few new clothes and some more toys for the children. My next stop would be a break at a local cafe.
The cafe was close by and not too busy when I arrived. The bell to the cafe rang and I made my way to the front.
"Hello, could I get a small cappuccino?"
It didn't take them long to make the coffee and I was seated in a small corner of the cafe. I dropped my bags onto the seat beside me and sipped on my cappuccino.
I pulled my phone out of my purse to check for any new messages.
There was nothing from Kaeya which wasn't a surprise. Unfortunately there was also nothing from Dottore. Though it wasn't a shocker. I had fallen asleep texting him last night and had only responded not too long ago.
It all was still mind-boggling to me. What has inspired Dottore to take such an interest? As I thought back on it now I wasn't exactly sure. If he wasn't after me because he knew I had something he needed then was it truly just for his own personal reasons?
It just didn't make any sense.
Yet here I was just going with the flow of things.
Maybe it was Kaeyas reappearance or maybe it was the thrill knowing at any second my life could be once more flipped upside down.
I couldn't help but think back on the past sometimes. What a world it was. It was fun at the beginning.
But after that...
I could feel my mood drop a bit and I shook my head trying to get rid of the incoming thoughts.
I was overthinking it.
Thats all and thats it.
If the time came where my overthinking was correct I'd deal with it then. For now I was going to enjoy my coffee and the rest of the day.
I took another sip of my cappuccino and tapped back into my messages.
When I had first met Dottore I hadn't taken him for someone who liked talking. We had done a lot of that in the past while. I don't think I had ever messaged someone so much.
I scrolled through the messages.
Somehow he managed to be just as charming over text. Sometimes if I was lucky I'd also find a little message left by the kids. Those warmed my heart.
