I returned to an empty home that night.
Kaeya was not here and I hadn't replied to any of his previous messages. I didn't need to reply anyways. They were just of Kaeya pouting and begging to be fed.
The next day was Sunday so I had the day to myself.
I didn't feel like doing much.
I had planned to just relax but I knew it never went that way.
Instead of relaxing I sat nervously staring down at the USB. I sat here debating for awhile now of taking another look at it.
Now that Kaeya had come back into my life and Dottore was making his way in I didn't have much of a choice.
At one point or another something could happen and if I wasn't prepared it could end very very badly.
I groaned in annoyance and grabbed onto the USB. I stuck it back into my laptop and powered it on.
The file popped up once more and I hovered my mouse over one folder.
My heart rate was slowly increasing.
I bit down on my lip and nervously clicked it open. When the folder opened a tone of documents and pictures flooded my screen.
I clicked on a newer photo and it expanded covering my laptop screen.
The man looked just as cruel and tough as he always was. There was no emotion on his face and when he did show it there was nothing but anger.
Nothing about him had changed and that thought made me want to avoid him even more.
I took in a breath to calm my racing heart and clicked through a few photos.
All of them had been taken away from this country, but all it took was one here and I'd be gone.
I could feel the sweat on my palms as I clicked.
I stopped at an article involving him.
Like usual he was praised. The media loved him because of his mysterious exterior.
I didn't bother to read the article and moved on.
After a half an hour of looking through the file I closed it.
I had learned a lot of his recent actions and honestly it was only making me anxious. I was at my limit for looking at info on him.
I scrolled down to the next file.
Kaeya.
This was probably the only time I'd be able to look through it. I wouldn't dare do so with Kaeya around. After all I doubt Diluc had told Kaeya.
I wiped my palms on my shirt before opening up the folder on Kaeya.
My screen flickered and the file closed.
I blinked a few times before trying once more.
The screen of my laptop flashed different colors and instead of the file opening it demanded a password.
What the fuck?
The password was timed as well. When the time ran out the file closed.
I opened it again and tried a few passwords.
Kaeya
My laptop pinged and under the password box said error.
Uh what else...
Khanrieah
Error.
Prince
Error.
Idiot Brother
Error.
Yea this wasn't getting anywhere.
I pulled my phone out from beside me and shot Diluc a message. Why had he given me a file and not the password?
Maybe it was in case Kaeya found it but still.
I waited 15 minutes but there was still no reply from Diluc.
I decided to shut down my laptop for now and get off the couch.
I stretched my arms out and looked out the front window.
It was still quite early in the morning and I had a lot of time left.
Maybe I should message Dottore.
I went back to the couch and picked up my phone.
Opening my contacts I clicked the message button. It started a new chat with Dottore and moved to sit on the window ledge.
Now the question was what to say.
I typed out a few different messages before deciding one.
"Hey its Y/N. I wanted to thank you again for the other night."
I clicked send and watched as the message was delivered.
My heart beat with anticipation as the message quickly said read.
The typing bubble popped up and I exited out of the chat and closed my phone.
But seconds later a message lit up the screen. I grasped my beating heart as I read the message.
"No problem I'm glad I decided to go out that night. Hows your day been?"
I opened my phone and clicked back onto his message.
"Well its been nice. I haven't much plans for the day yet maybe getting outside for a walk. Yourself?"
I waited as he typed this time.
His next message caused me to inhale.
"If thats the case then why don't you come down to the park with me? The kids want to go and usually stick around for a few hours leaving me with nothing to do. We could go grab something to eat afterwards?"
