Affection, Admiration... and Love

The day before, with Dina and Ellie.

-

Dina's dark brown eyes slowly blink awake as the sun came over the horizon, seeping through the broken and still standing windows. She sits up, rubbing her eyes and taking a big yawn.

Looking around she doesn't see Ellie anywhere, assuming she's still asleep inside the break room she locked herself into the afternoon before.
Taking a sigh, she stands up and goes outside to Ellie's horse named shimmer. Rubbing the horses nose she goes to it's back and then she unclips her bag from the saddle. Walking back inside of the theatre she can hear some rustling inside of the break room. Knowing that has to be Ellie she walks up to the door quietly before taking a deep breath and knocking her fist against the door. The rustling quickly stopped after Dina had knocked.

"Ellie? Can I come in?" Dina asks leaning the side of her face against the door to maybe hear something from the other side. She only hears silence.

Looking down at her hands she decides it would be best to at least check up on Ellie. Dina grabs onto the doorknob and twists it, opening the heavy metal door. "Ellie?" she questions as she laid her eyes onto said women who was sitting on the edge of the bed with her head in her hands.

Dina's face softened as she slowly makes her way to Ellie and sits onto the arm of the sofa. She crosses her legs and places a hand on the middle of Ellie back.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I really didn't want to believe it, but it started to become more and more obvious that I... I'm having a baby."
Ellie's head slowly turns to look towards Dina's. Dina can see Ellie's dark circles under her eyes and that Ellie probably didn't sleep very well.

"I'm sorry too..." Ellie looks down to the floor.

"I shouldn't have lashed out on you, it's just that I was so stressed out. We almost died! I watched Sylvia be taken away and I'm not sure she's even alive right now." Ellie's voice breaking at the end of the sentence.

"Hey... I understand." Dina rubs her hand comfortingly up and down her back.

"I get it why you acted that way, so don't apologise anymore... It make you look soft." Dina chuckles, trying to lighten the dark mood in the room. It didn't seem to work very well.

Ellie scoffs, "What am I gonna do?" she put her head into her hands.

Dina sighs, "I don't know..."

"I hope Sylvia's alright; she doesn't deserve this. The torture they're probably doing to her..." Dina just listens.

"I miss her so much, the way she's always on board even if she isn't sure... or maybe how much she gets excited over the smallest things like seeing animals walking about outside. She means so much to me..."

Dina gets off of the arm of the chair and made her way in front of Ellie, she crouches down and pulls Ellie's face out of her own hands and into Dina's, Ellie looks into Dina's brown eyes and Dina smirks seeing the slight pink on Ellie's freckled cheeks.

"To be honest, I think you like her." Dina couldn't help but smile at the woman in front of her.

"What? No, no.....no....... right?" Ellie's eyes widen.

Ellie's mind pulls memories that had been burned into her mind.

She remembers the giant smile Sylvia gives when she finds a hocky card that she doesn't have and is so excited to show it off to her. And the joyous squeak Sylvia lets out when she sees a new puppy around Jackson or when she learns that the sheep have had babies.
