"Why wouldn't I be here?" I ask and then pause. "Do you not want me here?"

"No! Of course I do, I just didn't think you'd come," Eddie says. 

"Why wouldn't I come? I was so worried about you these past 2 hours. F*cking school I swear," I say.

"You were?" Eddie asks.

"Of course I was! You literally collapsed!" I exclaim. "I had no clue what was wrong!"

"I'm fine, I promise. Just a few broken ribs," Eddie explains. 

"Broken ribs?!"

"Yeah, 2 of em. I mean, I had a couple guys on me. I'm not surprised that I ended up with these. The doctors said I should be alright though. I just can't pick up any heavy stuff for a while until they heal," Eddie explains. 

"Is it ok if I crawl into bed with you or will that hurt you?" I ask.

"You should be fine," Eddie says. I crawl into the bed next to him and lay my head on his shoulder.

"Wow, a couple guys on ya. I'm jealous," I joke.

"Dumbass," Eddie says. The room falls silent. 

"So..." I try to break the silence. "You love me?" 

"Shut up, you already know that," Eddie says. "I think that's pretty clear considering our wrists, the fight, and what I said in the bathroom."

"I know, I'm just making sure," I say.

"Yes, I do love you," Eddie says. "And you love me?"

"Yeah, I'm surprised you didn't figure it out sooner, it was sooo obvious," I say.

"I'm sorry I'm oblivious!" Eddie exclaims. 

"I probably should have just told you sooner, but I didn't wanna lose you as a friend. You're such a great person. I was also pretty worried about you telling other people because I know it would spread around the school like a virus. I'm surprised that I was able to keep it quiet for 15 years basically," I explain. 

"Even if I didn't like you back, I probably would have stayed. Depending how you told me. I guess if you had done some big gesture, I would have been a little weirded out, but I would have never told anyone," Eddie says.

"I guess I can never be too sure. Grant and my family are the only ones that know. I didn't wanna tell more people than I had to," I say. 

"Well, I'm pretty sure that everyone's gonna know now," Eddie says. "Is that ok?"

"I mean, since I have you to beat everyone up now, yeah," I joke. "And I mean I wanna walk down the hallway holding your hand, so yeah. It's ok."

"Let me know if anyone gives you issues. I'll take care of em," Eddie says. 

"While you're in the hospital with 2 broken ribs? I don't think so. I can take care of myself. I've done it long enough," I say. 

"I'll always be here for you though," Eddie says.

"I know," I say. I look up at him and he looks down at me. I lean forward to kiss him and he leans in as well meeting me half way. It's the best first kiss I could have asked for. As I snuggle closer to him, I feel my heart glowing and I couldn't be happier.
