"Hello?" I grumbled into the phone, holding my hand over my eyes. Maybe drinking 2 bottles of wine alone in bed last night wasn't my brightest idea.
"Hi." Who was this? I held the phone back, barely able to recognise the assortment of letters on the screen.
"Hi."
"Were you asleep?"
"I was. I'm not convinced I'm not right now honestly." They chuckled.
"You were supposed to meet me at Victoria station like 20 minutes ago." I sat up, looking at the phone again.
"Shit. I'm so sorry Harry." He laughed. "I think I drunk until I passed out last night. I can't see anything." I chuckled, laying back down and pulling the duvet over my head. "Rain check?"
"No. We can change the plans. You'll end up working if we don't do something." I groaned and he just laughed. "Good job you sent me your address last night isn't it."
"Oh god. I did?"
"You text at like 1am saying you might be hungover and gave me your address in case I still wanted to hang out because you didn't want to see Robin and if I didn't come over you'd work yourself to death." No chance. I put him on loud speaker, pulling my phone back to check my texts.
"I did not-shit." I bit my lip and put a hand over my eyes. "So much wine." He laughed and I shook my head. "Sorry Haz. You don't need to-"
"I'm getting on the tube in a sec. I won't be long. Do you want food?"
"I've got-"
"And iced coffee?"
"Harry-"
"Simple yes or no beautiful." I stared at the phone in my hand. "Lil?"
"Hm?"
"I'm coming over love."
"I'm a mess Harry."
"Kind of happens when you're hung over. That's why I'm bringing you food and coffee."
"I'm not hungry."
"You're not?"
"No." There was a long silence. "You still there?"
"Yeah." I sunk into the pillows, closing my eyes. "Are you still in bed?"
"Yeah. You woke me up." He chuckled.
"Okay. I'm gonna go get the train. I don't think it's a long journey. Think you can get up?"
"Oh I don't know. Might fall down the stairs."
"Then I'll pick your lock and come to you."
"I'm kidding."
"I'm not." He laughed at me. "About 15 minutes beautiful okay?"
"Okay."
I looked down at myself as I threw my phone onto the bed beside me. Him coming over means I now have to put some actual clothes on. Or something that's not a vest top and my thong. I don't think that would give a great impression. I mean it would. But it wouldn't be a great idea.
Pulling myself from bed, I stumbled over to my wardrobe. Jumper and shorts. I did not have the energy for normal clothes today. I just wanted to sleep all day. Hopefully he won't be here long after breakfast and he leaves. I'm not the best person to be around when I'm hungover or sick. Grumpy, unresponsive, quiet. It's just best to let me be alone.
I was looking at myself in the mirror. Hair all over the place but I could not be bothered trying to tame it. Messy bun it is. It'll look intentional. Like I put an effort in whilst actually putting in the least amount possible.
I'm pretty sure this is one of the guys' jumpers. No clue who's though. I don't remember stealing it or them giving this one to me like I usually do. It could be Evan's which would be hilarious. I hadn't seen him since we split up like 2 years ago. The boys would know if they saw it. Especially if it was Evans.
I picked my phone up, scrolling through all of last nights unread notifications. Just the 4 boys ranting and complaining about me still refusing to come with them. I hated that Erica had just openly told them they'd be okay without me in the office. She knew that was my only cover and she knew they'd go mad if they knew I'd been lying this whole time. And yep, as expected they were all going mad. From the moment I'm guessing Robin got home yesterday which was about this time. It had been a nonstop barrage of begging and telling me I didn't have an excuse. That they'd keep me out of sight so I'd be okay.
I still wasn't going.
I was stood in the mirror brushing my teeth when the knock at the door pulled me out of my head. Walking down and opening it to Harry. I stopped brushing, holding the toothbrush between my teeth.
"Hey." I stood back, opening the door for him to come in, closing it behind him before running back up to the bathroom and finishing quickly.
"Sorry, got lost in my thoughts and lost track of time." I walked down the stairs slowly as he stayed stood where he had been.
"You look a lot more hungover than I thought you were."
"I feel like death." I chuckled, putting a hand over my eyes. "Drinking alone is never a great idea." I stepped down the last 2 steps, landing dead in front of him. Okay Lil. A little too cl- he smells really good. Like really really good. "What aftershave are you wearing?" I looked up at him, genuinely wanting to know.
"Um." I could see it in his face. His mind ticking over. "I think it's Narciso Rodriguez Blue Noir." I nodded, taking a mental note to look at that. It was kind of addictive. "You like it?" I heard his words but was slightly unable to answer. It took my brain a few minutes to clarify what he'd said and he was just stood there chuckling at me.
"Sorry. I think I might still be a little drunk." I smiled, stepping back and crossing my arms. "Yeah it's good. Suits you. Um- Kitchen? Living room?"
"Wherever you'll be more comfortable Lil." I tilted my head at him and he smiled, holding out the coffee cup tray he had been holding this whole time. I took it from him, walking into the living room. Grabbing my throw blanket and slouching down into the corner of the couch as he handed me a little paper bag. "I just got you what you had yesterday morning."
"Thanks." I pulled my knees up closer to me, pulling the croissant apart slowly.
"What do you want to do today then?" I looked at him as he sat down beside me.
"Sleep." I chuckled at him, watching as he shook his head slowly, the smile not leaving his face. I was starting to feel like it was permanently stuck on his face but I'd seen him working when he thought he was alone. It wasn't always there.
"Sleep it is."
