"Hi Lil." I looked up from my laptop. I was sat right at the back of floor level seats. I didn't really want to leave the floor incase I got lost. It was only an internal meeting so it didn't matter about background noise that might break through though so far, nothing from their soundchecks had. I muted myself and quickly looked back at her.
"Hey. Give me a sec. I'm just finishing up this meeting." She nodded and sat down, leaving a chair between us. I unmuted and looked back at what Harry was sharing. "I don't like that font Haz."
"You're so picky."
"It just doesn't work. Her entire thing is pastels and pinks. The blocky text doesn't go. It needs to be a little more flowy. Can you try um." I laid my head back thinking. Running my head through the fonts I'd usually pick for this kind of thing. "Windsong might work better or, Italianno maybe if you want it less intense." He looked into the camera through the top of his eyes. "Stop being dramatic."
"You're saying I have to re do it all?"
"Or send me it and I'll fucking fix it." Erica giggled. "Don't you bloody start." I chuckled. "Send it to me Harry. I'll fix it tonight when they're on stage, not like I'll have anything else to do. Erica, that logo is done, I've put it in the drop box with the others."
"Super star." Her face appeared on the screen as Harry stopped sharing. "Anything else Harry?"
"Yeah. The pictures you edited?"
"What about them?"
"Client loves them. Wants a few more doing?"
"Put that to Erica. I'm not doing them without them paying, that's out of contract."
"What so charge them?"
"Yeah, we'll charge them if they want it. Do we still have the pricing somewhere Lil?"
"Yeah but I haven't updated it since Sarah left so it might need looking at." She nodded.
"Okay cool. I'll look at that too then."
"Cool. We all good? I've got someone waiting for me here." I rolled my eyes as Erica sat back in her chair, biting the end of her pen. "Not like that though I can see he's still staring and trying to get my attention."
"Who is?"
"Aww Haz. You jealous babe?"
"Not a chance." He laughed. "I'm gonna bounce off for this other meeting. Talk tomorrow Lil."
"Yeah I should go too. I'll text you Lil. I need details." I smiled and she hung up, allowing me to close the laptop and turn my attention to Sophia, pulling the earphones out of my ear.
"Sorry."
"Oh no don't worry, it looked important."
"Barely. Some minor things that they just needed my sign off on." She nodded. "You okay?"
"Yeah. I um- We should talk right? I feel like we got off on the wrong foot with everything." I turned my body, facing her and letting her talk. "I um- I didn't know about the um- disorder and everything. If I did I wouldn't have been so insensitive about it."
"Oh no, it's fine Soph-"
"No it's not fine. Rob said it caused you to relapse? That you lost weight really quick which isn't healthy Lilly." I sighed. "I know you're his best friend and everything and I really want to get on with you. I think I was just really stuck on this idea that you liked him." Do not react Lil, keep calm. "But like you inviting me here, watching you eye up that technician guy and I heard about that Harry guy back home. So you can't be right?"
"Right." I nodded. "That's weird anyway, we're like best friends. He's been by my side for nearly 23 years." She giggled.
"See! I don't know what I was worrying about. I get why you didn't like me too. I wasn't exactly the greatest first impression when we started talking just before he left before. You're kind of intimidating is all."
"I'm sor- Did you say I'm intimidating?" I sat up and she nodded.
"Like I knew about you before I met you, he never stopped talking about you and how close you guys are and even then I was like okay, you guys are crushing on each other but refusing to admit it. And then I saw how you are with him and the other guys and its pretty much the same right so I was like okay no it's just their whole friendship dynamics. But you have all 4 of them literally wrapped around your thumb and every guy you come into contact with just seems to fall to his knees. I mean look at what's his name?"
"Will."
"Yeah look at Will. He's literally sat 30ft up in the air staring at you and you're just working away like he doesn't even exist. You're best friends with the biggest band in the world right now and you care that little about how famous they are, you don't even want to be seen around them in public. Your super pretty, funny, I just- Yes. Intimidating." She laughed and I gave her a smile.
"Thanks." She nodded and I turned back to face the boys as they stood on stage. "They're a great bunch of guys. I'd hate if someone was to fuck with one of them for I don't know, money or fame or just for the paparazzi attention you know? None of them deserve it. They deserve someone who loves them for them, not this whole thing. They have so much more to give the world besides music. Like Luke, he's an artist. He paints and draws. He started teaching me when we first met and I took it at uni and that got me my job. Then Aiden, he's just the goofiest guy around. He always knows how to make you laugh if you're feeling down or anything and he's really protective, I mean they all are, but Aiden would gladly set his own family on fire for me if he needed to. Bailey, he was supposed to become a chef. He makes the most amazing foods, something he'll never openly admit is he makes the best fucking soufflés I have ever tasted. And well, you know Robbie."
"No tell me. I want to know."
"Robbie is Robbie." I shrugged. "He taught me guitar when we were kids, taught me how stand up for myself, which I bet he regrets sometimes. He's probably the most protective out of all of them. My ex, Evan, cheated on me in the crowd at one of his smaller shows in a little academy building in town and he literally stopped everything, got them both kicked out and walked off stage to make sure I was alright. Then he made Jas hug me until he was finished. Every time she tried to move he stopped. When the whole article came out online and I got all the shit for just wearing a bikini at a little beach, it kickstarted the anorexia from high school and I just went into this hole, literally blocked everyone out, turned my phone off, stopped eating, was in the gym from like 3am until 8am then I'd go to work, finish there at 6 and go back until like 9 or 10 go home, try to sleep and repeat. I remember it like it was yesterday, the way he literally kicked my front door down and he just held me whilst I cried for like 2 hours. He was there every step of the way then. Took me home so I could recover away from everything. Helped me refocus on being healthy rather than thin. It's just Robbie." I looked at her and pressed my lips together and shrugged. "He's my best friend Soph. And I hate to be that girl, but if you hurt him-"
"I won't." She shook her head looking at him. "I don't want to hurt him Lil. He's special. He's not like everyone else."
"No, he's not. One of a kind." I sighed. There was only one Robbie.
