"You told me it was an emergency." I sighed as I crossed my arms "This is not an emergency. I was at work guys."
"But it is an emergency Lil."
"It's a fucking spider. I could have come over after work and sorted it or you know, you guys could have?"
"Can you just get it out?" I rolled my eyes, taking the paper out of Bailey's hands, sliding it under the glass and taking the spider out into the garden, returning with an empty glass and clean piece of paper.
"Done." I looked at the other 3 boys who were stood on the table cowering. "Wimps."
"Are you sure it's gone?"
"No, It's going to come back and eat you in the night." Rolling my eyes was second nature around these 4.
"Don't say that." Robin nervously laughed. "You definitely put it in the garden?"
"Yes Robbie. In the garden on the grass. Look the cups empty, nothing on the paper." I held it up to them before walking over and putting the glass in the sink, sliding the paper back onto the side. They slowly climbed down as I stood there with my arms crossed again. "How do you guys even cope on tour when I'm not there."
"Oh we don't." Robbie smiled, walking over and wrapping me in a hug. "Thanks Lil."
"Drama king. You're the worst of the lot of them." I held him tight, breathing him in like I hadn't seen him when he picked me up and dropped me off to work this morning.
"I'll pretend you didn't say that when you ask me to take you to work in the morning again."
"Who said I'll be here in the morning?" He stepped back, letting me sit up on the counter.
"You're not staying?" I looked behind him to the other three boys, all with their bottom lips out. Honestly. So dramatic.
"I do have my own house you know?"
"We know. We bought you it." I quickly screwed up the paper and threw it at Aiden.
"Prick."
"You know you love it."
"I do. Doesn't mean you're not a prick though." I shrugged and they laughed.
"But it's movie night tonight Lil. Your attendance is obligatory. You can't get out of it."
"Well unfortunately Luke, I have a normal person job and you guys made me leave early so I have to catch up now."
"You brought your laptop."
"Okay. And?"
"So work whilst we watch."
"No because you'll complain I'm not paying attention, the laptops too bright, too much clicking or huffing." Robbie picked me up, moving me closer to the other 3. Being moved between them all didn't phase me, not anymore. It did take me a while to feel normal though. The first time they did was in year 9 at lunch during summer term. We were sat on a picnic table on the field and I refused to move away from where a bee was. Robbie ran over, picked me up and ran to the other table. I screamed so loud teachers were running over thinking I was hurt.
"We won't."
"We promise."
"I've heard that before." Rolling my eyes again. They knew I was going to end up staying. I don't even know why they got me my own place. I practically lived here anyway. The spare room was filled with all my stuff. They did ask me to move in but I said it would be weird being here without them whilst they're away. I barely liked sleeping home alone as it was but at least in my own place it wasn't as big. It didn't feel as scary.
"We can order in whatever you want."
"We always order what Lil wants."
"That's because Lil is more important than you shithead." Robbie pushed Aiden back with a slight knock at the arm.
"I most definitely am not." I crossed my legs on the island, scowling at a mark on Bailey's forehead. "Have you been fighting with pasta sauce again? You've got it in your hairline."
"Oh. That might be blood."
"I'm sorry? FUCKING BLOOD?" They laughed. "Who's blood?"
"Mine." I turned to Robbie. "I had a nose bleed last night and it dripped on him as I was getting off the coach."
"Another nose bleed?"
"I blew my nose too hard. It's fine. Chill out Babe." I rolled my eyes.
"Anyone else want to bring that back or can we just skip over it again?"
"What calling you babe?"
"No, blowing our noses too hard. Yes calling me babe. Are you dim Luke?" He pouted at me, crossing his arms. "Oh no. That was mean. Sorry." I grabbed at him, pulling him to me by his shirt and wrapping my arms around him "You're not dim. Special. But not dim." He hugged me back, pulling my legs around him and walking out of the kitchen. "If I'm staying, I need my laptop."
"I knew you'd stay."
"Only for you Lukey." I kissed his cheek, laying my head into his neck as he sat down and moved my legs so I was sat beside him, legs flat over his, barely reaching the end of the sofa. "You pick food tonight."
"Really?"
"Yeah." I nodded and he smirked. "Oh for gods sake." Robbie handed me my laptop, sitting down behind me and stealing me from Luke.
"What?" Bailey slouched into one of the other chairs, looking at Luke's smug face. "Oh you didn't Lil."
"LIL. Are you joking?" Aiden laid sideways in his chair dramatically. "He gave us food poisoning last time."
"I did not. The place had great reviews. It must have been something else we all ate. I'm not placing the blame but Robbie made us all taste that sushi he got in town."
The boys continued rambling on as I sighed, opening my laptop. Robbie's finger dug into my side, making me look up. Not a sound left his mouth but it moved with words, slowly. God I could stare at his lips all day.
"Are you okay?" I nodded and he raised an eyebrow.
I was perfectly fine. I'm sat on you Robs. How can I not be happy in the same room as you, let alone being sat on your knee. I laid my head onto his shoulder, letting him kiss my forehead gently.
"How long are you guys back for this time?" I asked him specifically, keep my voice low as the other boys argued.
"A month, then we're back to it for 6 months." I nodded, looking back at the laptop. "Come with us Lil." I sighed.
"You know I can't. I have to work." He shook his head against me. "Let's not do this again Robs. I can't keep doing this with you guys every time you go. You know it's not for me."
"I don't get why." I felt the other boys look at us as his voice came out of the whisper to a normal decibel. "It's not as bad as you make it out to be Lil. There's not that many cameras, not really."
"I mean-"
"Shut up Aiden."
"I can't come with you guys." I moved off his knee, sitting cross legged beside him with my back flush to the couch. "I don't want my face all over socials. I don't want to be known as 'Their Lilly.' I want to be known for my work. Without my face being everywhere."
"Lil-"
"No. I'm not going over this again. You know my reasons."
"You really shouldn't listen to shit online Lil." Aiden sat up straight.
"I don't. Because I'm not online for me to see it." I shrugged and carried on working. "I'm not changing my mind. You guys go off, take over the world. I'll be right here when you get back. Same as always."
