Vox Machina was plummeting to their death.

Athena expected her feet to touch solid ground when she entered through the portal. Instead, her body lurched forward as gravity did its natural work of bringing objects back to the ground.

Everyone was screaming as they continue their unexpected descent toward the earth. Keyleth turned into an eagle and was able to catch the twins and Pike.

"Scanlan, please do something!" Athena cried as she, Percy, and Scanlan were about to hit the ground.

"The landing's gonna be a bit rough, I'll save our asses with some butt stuff," he sang sending a wave of magic to the ground that summoned a butt to cushion their fall. Athena bounced off the butt a few feet before safely landing on it with the other two.

"Before I met you, I would have found this very upsetting," Percy grunted. Their moment was short-lived as Grog's screaming came to their ears as he descended towards them with Trinket. As Grog and Trinket hit it, they all bounced off it and fell onto the ground. Trinket simply bounced off of it as well, landing nicely on his feet. Grog though landed right in the crack. The others landed on the ground witnessing Grog turned his body around in it.

"Good thing these titties were here," he said as he patted the cheeks. A few of them chuckled looking at Grog's position.

"What?"

"Okay, that was not my fault. I told Keeper Yennen I have to know the tree. I mean, she was so vague," Keyleth rationalized their mishap.

"Whoa," Pike exclaimed walking to the edge of the cliff, "You guys? We made it."

"Is that Vassem...? Uh... Vagil...?" Grog tried to recall.

"Vasselheim. Our only chance."

In the distance, Athena could see the grandeur that earned the city its name. She could tell it was heavily fortified even from this distance as giant walls surrounding the city. A massive river that descended from the mountains went through the city. They had seemed to manage to make a sort of dam system for the city to use. It was truly marvelous to look at.

"Well, we still got to walk down there," Vex grumbled. She was not looking forward to stepping into that place again.

"What are we waiting for?" Keyleth cheered as she ran down the mountain path.

The journey down was rather quick and easy by their means. However, what they didn't expect was the long line of people waiting to enter the city. The entire group let out a sigh as they took their place in line. As the line moved slowly, everyone chatted amongst each other to pass the time.

Athena, however, pulled out her book. The one Gilmore graciously gave her before they were almost incinerated.

She had already read through the book once when they were resting in Whitestone when she was in the confines of her own room. She had made marks throughout the pages taking notes, treating it like it was a book detailing various battle techniques.

Of course, to make sure no one raised suspicion about what she was actually reading, she took the spine of another book and replaced the pages of this book in it. Athena was already quite embarrassed that she was pretty much reading the dummies guide to romance. She would probably combust if anyone found out, especially Vax.

Luckily, no one seemed to raise any eyebrows at what she was reading plus she was in the back of the group. They were probably allowing her to have a bit of peace before they all rushed to go kill four ancient dragons. No better time to learn about romance, right?
