"Doctor..." The smoke continued to billow around Percy. His finger was itching the trigger. Her death would be one step closer to his revenge.
"Percy, wait!" Keyleth shouted.
His finger pulled the trigger before she could react further. The gunshot ran out in the close space. The woman was unharmed though. Cassandra stood in front of Percy and moved the gun away the second before.
"Percy, what are you doing?! She's unarmed!" Keyleth exclaimed. The group had looks of horror on their faces at the split-second change in his personality. Athena had a puzzled expression as she tried to decipher the situation and the identity of the woman. Though she agreed that Percy's persona or whatever it is was getting out of control.
"So was my family," He growled out.
"Percy, she may have something we can use. They kept her alive for a reason," Cassandra persuaded.
"Um. Mind telling us who the hell this is?" Vex questioned.
"Dr. Anna Ripley, I presume," Athena interjected. Besides Delilah, she was the only other woman who would elicit this response from Percy. Ripley slowly nodded her head.
Percy removed the mask from his face bringing his gun back up, "Another Briarwood pawn I'm about to remove from the board."
"And here I thought you were the intelligent one. We're both engineers, Percival. We know the value of knowledge. You must be curious as to the information I possess," she chuckled which result in Percy cocking his gun.
"Not that curious."
"Brother, wait," Cassandra pleaded, pushing the gun away again.
"Why should I?!"
"I've been with the Briarwoods for years, and I know next to nothing about their motives."
Her pleading seemed to work as the smoke disappeared as he let out a sigh, lowering his gun. "Fine. Interrogation. Then she dies."
Percy walked off and Vax quickly went back to unlocking the cell door. He gave Athena and Vex a side-eye trying to communicate with them silently. Something needed to be done with Percy. He was afraid that what happened in prison would happen again soon if they didn't do anything.
"Speaking of burning questions, uh, quick little sidebar here?" Scanlan directed Percy away. Percy agreed to follow him along with Pike, Athena, and Keyleth.
"Percy, hey, love ya pal, but we got to deal with this smoke thing. I mean, you are legit fuckеd up," Scanlan voiced what they were all thinking.
"Not this again."
"It's been getting worse," Keyleth state, "Pike, eh... can you divine anything?"
"If Percy will let me," Pike looked to Percy. He had hesitant look on his face. A voice telling him to not trust them.
"Please, Percy. We just to make sure you are okay," Athena begged.
Percy's eyes often at their concerns. He gave a nod to Pike as he lowered himself to his knee for her to reach him. She placed her hand over his heart as her hand glowed even brighter than it was. Pike exhaled, closing her eye in concentration. She opened them again, her eyes shining bright in power. Athena was anxious to know what Pike was seeing. Unfortunately, she could imagine the worse as she dealt with many monsters.
Pike let out a gasp, confirming her fears. "Percy? Percy, look at me." Percy lifted his head up at her request. She let out a shout as she stumbled back from something.
