"Who now?" Jackie speaks up as the five people standing in the room look from one person to the next.
"I'd say my other college ex wanting to join the party, but since he's playing ball in South Africa it's not likely." Jo grumbles, heading towards the door seeing as no one else is and the person is knocking louder.
"Wait, let me." Michael moves quickly, feeling extra protective despite the highly likelihood that the person on the other side is not a threat to her.
"I got it." She sighs, holding a hand up to his chest as he steps close enough, twisting the knob herself.
"Good evening, Ms. Plum." She's surprised as a female police officer stands on her doorstep.
"Can I help you with something?" She frowns, feeling Michael step behind her, close enough for her skin to tingle all over within his shadow.
"Your neighbor called in a noise complaint, and informed the operator she was concerned after seeing two unidentifiable men follow you into the home through the garage."
"Great, old Mrs. Johnson is being the neighborhood busy-body again." Jo sighs.
"Is everything alright tonight, ma'am?"
"No." Jo turns as Jackie answers, pleading with her eyes to leave the cops out of this, she doesn't need the drama it would cause on top of the playoffs, dealing with Michael, and her injury.
"You are also Ms. Plum, correct?" The officer turns her attention to Jackie as she steps into the doorway as well.
"Yes, and two men in here followed my sister home tonight, and entered our house without permission. Though we do know both and may not be in physical harm from either of them, they are trespassing and have ignored our pleas for them to leave the premises." Jackie states matter of fact.
"I'm your damn father, and you're telling the police I'm an issue?" They can hear from behind them, Jo tensing slightly.
"Would you like my help removing those who are in your home without permission?" The officer asks kindly.
"Yes please, this is the second time in the last two weeks that our father has entered our home without permission and overstayed his welcome." Jackie nods, Jo stepping back to open the door further, stumbling as she hits a solid chest. She gasps as Michael's hands grip her waist to steady her, fire igniting in her sides at his gentle touch. Moving out of his hold quickly to close the front door she mentally shakes herself. She needs to be cognitive right now, and letting him touch her is not going to help with that.
"Good evening, gentlemen, I am officer Gibson. There has been a report of a disturbance in this home tonight, as I hear it from Ms. Plum, a co-owner of this home, the two of you need to vacate the premises."
"You hate us so much you're going to make the cops make us leave?" Spencer nearly scoffs.
"Yes. I told dad last week that if he pulled this shit again I'd make it his problem, Mrs. Johnson just helped give me the chance." Jackie smiles.
"These ladies have stated they do not want you in their home and I am only going to ask nicely one more time. You are trespassing on their property, and entered the home without permission. You need to leave."
"I believe only one of my daughters has stated that she would like us to leave, if Jordan says otherwise, we are allowed to remain are we not?" William asks with a smug smile.
"Get out, dad. And take Spencer with you." Jo spits instantly. What part of him thought she would tell the officer they could stay? No, she doesn't want the drama or publicity of this, but she'd take that anyday over dealing with them for another moment now that it's an option.
