Song: Greek god
Written by: Conan gray
Y/N walked down the hall, his eyes fixed on his phone as he scrolled through his social media feeds. He was vaguely aware of someone following him, but he didn't bother to look up. He knew who it was.
Steve.
Y/N had always known that Steve watched him closely, always sizing him up and judging him. He didn't care if Steve liked him or not. But deep down, he wanted him to.
He knew that Steve watched everything he did, looking for any little thing he could use to confirm his suspicions that Y/N was a fool. Y/N was aware of the rumors that circulated about him, the whispers that he was just another pretty face with nothing to offer.
But Y/N didn't care. He knew that those rumors were just the oldest trick in the book, a way for people like Steve to feel superior.
Y/N rounded the corner and found himself face to face with Steve. The other man was dressed in his Captain America suit, his arms folded across his chest as he looked Y/N up and down.
"Hey, Y/N," Steve said, his voice cool and detached.
Y/N looked up from his phone and met Steve's gaze. He could see the doubt and suspicion in the other man's eyes, but he refused to let it get to him.
"Hey, Steve," Y/N replied, his tone casual. "What's up?"
Steve didn't answer right away, instead studying Y/N for a few more moments before speaking.
"Just keeping an eye on things," Steve said finally. "Making sure everything's on the up and up."
Y/N rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I'm sure you are," he said sarcastically. "Always the watchdog, huh?"
Steve bristled at the tone of Y/N's voice, but Y/N didn't back down. He was tired of Steve's constant scrutiny, his never-ending quest to prove that Y/N was somehow inferior.
"You know what, Steve?" Y/N said, his voice rising in anger. "I don't care if you like me or not. I'm not here to impress you. I'm here to do my job and do it well. And if you can't handle that, that's your problem, not mine."
Steve opened his mouth to reply, but Y/N cut him off.
"And another thing," Y/N said, his eyes flashing. "I know that you always wear that stupid suit because you're insecure. You think it makes you look better than everyone else, but it just makes you look like a joke. So go ahead and keep watching me, Steve. I don't care. Because at the end of the day, I know who I am and what I'm capable of. And that's all that matters."
Y/N turned on his heel and walked away, leaving Steve standing there in stunned silence. As he walked down the hall, Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. He had stood up for himself and refused to be intimidated by someone like Steve. And that was something he could be proud of.
