The New Beginning / Brennen Taylor

Chapter 1

I just wanted to say thank you for picking my book! I really hope you like it.

I just want to add that Brennen would probably never act like this. I just wanted to change his personality a little in this story.
* I wrote this when I was 13 so I apologize for all the spelling mistakes.*

"We're here." my mom pulls up to our new house.

"Oh joy." I say sarcastically.

" Alex. "my mom said looking back at me.

" I know mom, were staring over." I sighed.

"Yes we are."

I got out of the car and saw my house. it was pretty big just for two people, but I guess I need to get used to it. I walked down stairs to the basement and picked the biggest room. I put all my boxes down.

I opened a box, and saw a picture of me and Alice. Warm tears started to run down my eyes.

" Alex sweetie are you okay." my mom says coming towards me.

"I'm fine." I wiped away the tears.

My mom leaned in towards me to see what I was looking at.

" Alex it wasn't your fault." She says.

" Mom I was the one who was driving."

We then heard the door bell ring.

"I will get it." my mom stood up and left.

I followed behind her.

my mom went to the door and I leaned against the stair case seeing who it was. She opened the door and a tall guy with brown hair and beautiful green eyes was at the door holding cookies.

"Hello." my mom try's to give him a heart worming smile.

"Hi nice to meet you, I'm Brennen."

"Nice to meet you I am Tracey and this is my daughter Alex."

Our eyes met instantly.

"Hey." I try to give him a real smile.

" hey." He smirks.

"So where do you live." my mom asks.

"I live just across the street from you."

" oh cool, I'm excited to get to know your family." I roll my eyes at her comment.

" well I wanted to welcome you to the Neighbourhood and my mom made homemade cookies, so I hope you like them."

"That is so sweet thank you." my mom says taking the cookies.

"My mom also wanted me to invite you guys over for dinner at 6:30 tomorrow. "

" We would love to come." she says.

"Oh fun." I say sarcastically.

My mom looks back and rolls her eyes.

" well I guess I will see you tomorrow." my mom says.

" Nice meeting you Tracey, and nice meeting you Alex." he winks at me.

I blush.

" you too." I smile for the first time we got here.

"Bye."

My mom shuts the door and goes into the kitchen.

"He seems nice." my mom says walking in the kitchen.

"Ya he does."

"And he is cute." my mom looks up at me smirking.

"Mom that's gross he is way to young for you." I joke.

"Oh come on I saw the way he winked at you. I also saw the way you blushed.

" So what he flirted I just flirted back." I shrugged.

"Whatever you say."

"Well I'm going to unpack." I say grabbing a cookie.

I sat there on my bed looking at the stars out side my window. I grabbed my journal and started to write.

'My mom asked me today if I was okay, I said I was fine. When I say I'm fine I mean I'm
Broken I feel lost I feel as if everything I have loved became everything I've lost.'
