Chapter 38

I woke up Friday morning making coffee for my self and waiting for Lux to get up. Brennen is coming over soon so I have to ask if he can watch Lux while I get read for my date and if he can watch her during my date.

I hear the door shut and there comes walking in Brennen.

We never talked about that kissed we had. I know I said I love Brennen and I do, but I don't know if I love him like that anymore.

" Hey, so I have this thing and I was wondering if you could watch Lux I will most likely be back at around 3." I say lying to him.

" What things do you need to do." He says getting closer, smirking at me.

" Just some work things." I say backing up from him.

" You know we never talked about that kiss." He says.

" What's there to talk about." I shrug trying to act like it didn't matter.

" What do you mean there's nothing to talk about, we took a break maybe we can get back to together."

" Then what Brennen! Are you going to just live happily ever after? I think that this break is good for us."

" So that's it, we're back to this again? Always fighting about our relationship."

" Brennen I can't do this right now." I say walking away from him.

" Do what right now?"

" Brennen I'm going on a date with someone." I blurt out.

" Your what?" He sadly said.

" Brennen We need to see other people I can't just sit around waiting for ' Our paths to cross' I mean maybe they will, but I'm sick of waiting." I say walking into my room shutting the door.

Later that day.

Me and Jake have been walking through the park talking about everything. Talking about our family where we came from what we like to do. I really like him he understands me and he is so sweet. I like how he still likes me even though I have a baby.

" Hey are you hungry?" He asked me.

I Nod.

" Do you like pizza?" Is that even a question.

" Hell ya." I say, as he laughs.

" Okay I know a really good pizza place."

We were finally at the pizza place. Jake ordered is a cheese pizza and we were waiting for our food.

" So do you and your Ex get along?" He asked.

" Uh, when we were together we kinda got on each other a lot. Then when I found out I was pregnant he wanted us to take a break and since we've broken up we've gotten along."

Until today.

" Why would someone want to take a break from you." He says grabbing my hand.

" He wanted to take a break so he could take care of Lux which I understand." I shrug.

" Well if you need anything you know I'm here." He says, our fingers still intertwined.

I smile at him.

" I know that now." He leans in and softly kisses me.

I bite my bottom lip and kiss him once more.

We ate are delicious pizza and he drove me home. My day was honestly really amazing. He is amazing and I really like him. He walked me to the door step smiling at me.

" Today was amazing Jake." I say to him.

" I'm glad you liked it maybe we can do it again." I nod.

" I'd love too." I say to him.

He leans in and kisses my cheek.

" Bye Alex. "

" Bye Jake."

I walked in and Brennen was sitting on the couch. Liz was probably taking a nap because he wasn't holding her. He saw me come in and stood up taking his keys and heading to the door to leave.

" Hope you had fun on your date." He said irritated.

" Brennen I-"

" Don't." He says walking out the door slamming it right behind him.
