Clear blue water
High tide came and brought you in
And I could go on and on, on and on, and I will
Skies grew darker
Currents swept you out again
And you were just gone and gone, gone and gone

The plane touched down at the Las Vegas airport at 5:00pm. I had managed to pack my life up in two giant boxes that would meet me back at home in a few days. The problem was, I didn't know where home was. I knew WHO it was but didn't know where I'd do go from here.

In silent screams
In wildest dreams
I never dreamed of this
This love is good
This love is bad
This love is alive back from the dead, oh, oh, oh
These hands had to let it go free, and
This love came back to me, oh, oh, oh

I rented a car seeing as how mine was now owned by my ex. I didn't need GPS, I knew the drive by heart. Same palm trees, red rocks, desert sky all painting me a map home.

Tossing, turning
Struggled through the night with someone new
And I could go on and on, on and on
Lantern, burning
Flickered in the night, only you
But you were still gone, gone, gone

The drive seemed long but also short. Not long enough to process things but short enough to know I was running on borrowed time. I bit the inside of my cheeks as I counted down the stoplights to my destination.
In losing grip
On sinking ships
You showed up just in time
This love is good
This love is bad
This love is alive back from the dead, oh, oh, oh
These hands had to let it go free, and
This love came back to me, oh, oh, oh
This love left a permanent mark
This love is glowing in the dark, oh, oh, oh
These hands had to let it go free, and
This love came back to me, oh, oh, oh

My eyes were red, my face puffy from crying through the night as well as the flight. I cried tears of joy, tears of embarrassment, tears of hurt and tears of anxiety. I had made up my mind but what if he had to? What if it wasn't ever going to happen again? He could never forgive me, right?

Your kiss, my cheek
I watched you leave
Your smile, my ghost
I fell to my knees
When you're young, you just run
But you come back to what you need

My breathing quickens as I put my car in park. There was only a few feet between me and the front door. The door that concealed my fate. My fist trembles as I bring it to the door. Before I know it, I'm knocking with a plead.

I stand at the door waiting. Not sure if I want it to be answered. I wait before turning to walk away. I hear the door open behind me.
"Ev?" His voice asks.
I turn around and look at him completely blank and exhausted. He cracks a smile and I know I made the right choice. He rushes to me, picking me up in a spin. Before I have a chance to speak, he kisses me. He pulls away and with his hands on my face, he wipes my tears with his thumbs while not breaking contact.
"You're home." He whispers.

This love came back to me, oh, oh, oh
