Gone soft. ?

You kept a stern demeanor and looked as you walked into the Rec room . You and the others of 141 had just come off a long mission and you were finally back at the rust bucket you called base . Soap and the others didn't know why you were always on edge and stern but they called you reaper , you were like one on the battlefield. Most known enemies called you soul snatcher.

Your kill count was higher than anyone else's in base and was even higher then ghost.you were more agile and faster when it came to hand to hand combat which had given you an advantage to fighting. You wore some simple black sweatpants and a shirt that said
" do not disturb, I'm disturbed enough already".
You wore a black beanie as well and you were silently getting a snack .

" hey reaper !."
Soap said as he walked over to you with a grin.
" What do you want, Mactavish."
You said tiredly with tired dead eyes .
" someone's in a mood ."
He giggled .
" fûck off .."
You said quietly as you pushed past him and walked into your room . You were dealing with many things and one of them being the death of both your pet and your best friend. Both your parents were already dead so this just added onto it .

After your parents passed you became cold and stern, kinda like ghost . Since you were the way you were price had called you Ghost 2.0 . You didn't care at the moment if you lived or died since it was not like you had much to live for. The way your two last loved ones died was because she had been taking care of your pet and they took your pet in their care for a ride but they had gotten into a car accident and sadly passed away. You only had your pets dog tags and your friend's body was turned into ashes and given to her family .

You got the news from price about a few weeks ago and you've been handling it by shutting out your feelings but not only that but the people around you . you had one feeling you were feeling though and it was towards one of your team members , konig . it was love but that made you even more distant . you didn't want to get attached to someone again since you knew that the job you were all working had a high death rate if not done properly and the littlest fuck up can lead to one death to the whole entire team.
You didn't want to get attached , it was a way of mentally protecting yourself from any possible pain. You weren't doing the greatest of all and the others started to notice it slowly but Konig was the first to notice .You tended to avoid him when you could and you would ignore him as much as possible . everytime he would try to say hello or help you out you would shun him away.

He understood why you were like this but never got the chance to ask since he could never get close to you . you built up mental walls to protect yourself and you didn't know how to really express your feelings well .

You went back to your room and ate your snack in silence . you rummaged around your room closet and grabbed your black hoodie and you slipped it over your head and you left your room with your pets dog tags in hand and you walked towards the outside . Konig saw you walk down the hallway and he decided to take this as an opportunity but he waited for a bit.

You walked outside and it was muggy and foggy out , there were many trees and greenery but most of all peace and quiet. You walked outside and you went towards your spot like you always did near the concrete wall and you slouched down and tucked your knees to your chest. You took out your phone and headphones from your pocket and you put them on and you played the song inside out by duster .

You sat and looked up at the dark and cloudy sky and the tears started to fall slowly . tears rolled down your cheeks as you sat there sitting in silence looking up towards the sky .
'' im sorry...''
You said quietly as you held back a sob .
You saw a tall figure emerge from the door and you quickly wiped away any tears and you took out the knife you always kept in your pocket . you saw the figure get closer and you held the grip on your knife more tightly until you saw that it was konig and you let out a little sigh .
'' what do you want ..''
You said quietly .

'' i uh..i wanted to check in on you .''
He said calmly .
He saw your lightly pink glossy eyes and the dried tears streaked on your face. He made a small frown under his veil .
'' can i sit with you ?.''
He asked and you nodded .
He was kinda surprised you let him sit with you since you had always avoided him as if he was some sort of danger. He sat next to you on the ground and he shifted his body and looked towards you .
'' i know its hard...''
He started .

'' i don't need this ...i don't ..''
You said quietly.
'' you think that now but if you just let me try , you may not need this but i want to help .''
He said softly .
'' why do you want to help me...''
You sighed.
'' because your my team member ...but also a friend .''
He replied .
A friend ? , you looked up at him confused .
'' yes a friend even if your a little grouchy at times .''
He chuckled.

He looked down at your hand and saw the dog tag and he immediately looked towards you .
'' y/n.....''
He said.
''Yeah ?.''
You responded.
'' it's not your fault .''
'' what ?.''
You said while looking up at him with watery eyes .
'' y/n it's not your fault ....you werent the cause of their deaths..''
He started quietly but softly.
'' s-shut up ..''
You said as the tears started to fall again .

'' y/n its not your fault.''
He repeated again causing more tears to fall.
'' why do i fucking care so much about them....about you...''
You sobbed out quietly .
'' because y/n you have a heart , a kind a loving one but it has been through hell and fell apart.''
He said , his mind was stuck on the part when you said you care about him .
'' you care about me ?.''
He said confused.
'' yes i fucking care....i dont want to get attached i dont want to loose anyones else .''
You said as you wiped more tears .
Konig wordlessly pulled you into his lap and he wrapped his arms around you . this flipped a switch off in you and you just let it all go . you sobbed quietly on his shoulder and he gently rubbed your back comfortingly . you had finally let out all the feelings you had pent up .

'' shhh i got you .''
He said softly .
'' i really r-really love you.....i dont know fucking why...i loved them ...i love you .''
You said between sobs causing him to get flustered for a moment but he kept comforting you .
'' I know , it will get better. I promise you are not alone in this . i will help you through it the whole way.''
He reassured you .
You tightly held onto him as if he would disappear and you kept close.
After a few minutes you pulled away from him and started to feel awkward.
'' i'm sorry if i got your shirt wet ..''
You nervously rubbed the back of your neck .
'' don't be sorry...i also want you to know that i care about you as well .''
He said sheepishly .

You hesitantly wrapped your arms around him again and you leaned into him feeling the comfort again feeling safe and protected . He chuckled and wrapped his arms around you as well and he lifted up his mask and plated a small kiss on your forehead causing you cheeks to turn more pink .
'' someones gone soft .''
He giggled.
'' oh shut it .''
You chuckled while sniffling and resting your head on him .
You found comfort , security and much more. You just had to get used to the feeling but konig let you know it was okay to feel what you were feeling . you now had a reason to keep going and a reason to keep fighting but you also had to worry about him now but you knew you could keep him safe . you werent gonna let anything take you away from him .
