Before you knew it, school was already looming over like a dreaded cloud of rain. You hung out with Dahyun and her sister earlier in the day and it was nice to see her again. Though you excused yourself a while ago since you thought it would be best to let the sisters hang out with each other more. You want to stop by a stationary store to pick up another notebook and possibly some pens. You were on your way home when the store reminded you to pick up another notebook and you could dread going back to school already.
You headed inside and went to the various notebooks they had. They were all so cute! Which one should you get? Hm, it was a tough decision and you inspected the covers and paper thickness. You had a serious expression on your face, deciding which one was the best. As you scanned over the various notebooks, you think you felt eyes watching you. Quickly, you looked over your shoulder, thinking that it was someone standing by you since you were in front of the display.
Though you saw no one.
Was it your...? You jumped and let out a noise of surprise when you felt someone tap your shoulder. Scared, you whipped your head towards the mysterious person and found it to be Seojoon. Thankfully, you didn't let out a scream or anything.
"Don't scare me like that!" You smacked his arm, loud enough to catch the attention of other shoppers.
"Sorry! I thought I would surprise you!" He smiled and that made you instantly forgive him. His eyes flickered towards the rows of notebooks behind you. "I didn't know you liked stationary."
You inspected the notebook in your hands. "Sometimes I like doing it. I don't do it that much, only once in a while." You decided to keep it. "What are you doing here?" You walked to the next section of pens.
Seojoon followed. "I was going to grab some pencils since I need a new one. Then I saw you here."
You nodded. "I'll help you pick one out!"
Seojoon smiled. "Thanks, I need some help." He really didn't but he didn't care if it was you. Seojoon watched as you went on to inspect the rows of pens with a serious expression as if this was a life-changing decision. He felt a bit uneasy as if someone was staring him down. He glanced around but found nothing. Perhaps it was just his imagination.
It's ridiculous.
What the hell is he doing? Taehyung frowned and was ready to bang his head against something. Other shoppers looked at the boy before continuing on their way. He thought that maybe it was a good idea to get out and shop around for something. His room had been constant and he was feeling a little indifferent. Something new to spice up his life and maybe he could feel excited.
So when he saw you looking at notebooks, he thought of a brilliant idea to join you on his shopping adventure! Then he panicked once he saw Seojoon so he ducked behind the stand. What's wrong with him? He should be saying hi to you two! Though his legs seemed to be locked up and he couldn't stand.
Ugh, he's not sure what's wrong.
Taehyung continued to sit down on the floor of the store, ignoring odd stares from the shoppers. Was it because he tried asking Dahyun out and he feels awkward being around you, her best friend? That must be it! There's no other explanation! He was happy with his conclusion and stood up, eyes glancing to where you were but you were gone. He blinked and then his eyes fluttered towards the register. Ah, there you go paying for something.
He watched as you and Seojoon headed out of the store. Curiously, he wanted to follow and see where you two would go but he decided not to. Instead, he sighed to himself and went out of the store. There, Taehyung stood for a moment and moved in the opposite direction. Ridiculous. He thought to himself, ignoring how he wanted to follow and see what you were up to. He was just trying to be a good friend after all.
"Do you think it's a good idea?" You questioned Dahyun as she looked up from her assignment. Yours was halfway filled with answers but the question was still hanging onto your brain.
"I think so. Though maybe write a letter. It would seem better than a text, you know?" Dahyun replied seeing how your eyebrows were drawn up in a worried look. This was really stressing you out.
Your eyes widened in surprise. "You think?" You soaked in her words. "Yeah, you're right. Should I tell him to meet up somewhere...?"
Dahyun put her pencil down, leaving five questions unanswered. She would do them later as she sees her friend being a mess. "Yep. Why not go to an arcade or the amusement park? In front of the fountain or the giant castle."
Your mouth gaped in response. "Oh that sounds like a good idea! You're a genius!" Happiness was now forming on your face.
She let a smile form on her lips. "Of course I am." Excitedly, you looked up the amusement park and the hours of operation. Dahyun stared at you for a bit, happy that you were taking the big leap forward to ask someone out.
As you were scrolling through your phone, you didn't notice Taehyung pushing a desk to connect the two of yours. Dahyun gave him a suspicious look as he sat down. "I need a little bit of help?" He nervously laughed.
"Which question are you on?" She shook her head in disappointment, catching a glance on how many questions he had filled.
"Uh, three?" He smiled hoping that it would play off the disappointment.
It did not.
Dahyun explained the problem and Taehyung did it by himself. He slid the paper over to Dahyun so she could check to see if he did it right. His eyes glanced at you, yours wasn't even finished and you were on your phone. He was curious to know what was more important than your assignment.
His eyes managed to catch a glimpse of a Ferris wheel. He couldn't help but glance over at your screen when it's on max brightness and the colorful lights were catching his attention. A brilliant idea popped into his mind. Taehyung casually leaned back in his seat. "Do you guys want to go to an amusement park this weekend?"
Dahyun and you snapped your heads to look at him. Except yours now turned to worry. Dahyun glanced over at you. "An amusement park?" Her voice was filled with uncertainty.
Taehyung nodded eagerly. "Yeah! We need another break before finals come, right? Especially with the teachers bugging us with college applications..."
"I think that's just you." Dahyun commented. "Y/N and I have started our applications already."
His eyes widened in surprise. "Oh you guys did?" He smiled. "I guess it is me then. But can we still go to the amusement park? I want to before I drown with school." Taehyung let his eyes rest on Dahyun and then you for a moment. "Pretty please? I'll ask my friends as well."
You panicked. What do you say?! It's going to be even more awkward if you do happen to go with Seojoon and the rest of the group is there! Millions of thoughts are racing in your mind and you could see Dahyun trying to think of an excuse.
"Um, yeah that would be fun." You said. You could see Dahyun out of the corner of your eye shaking her head. Your face sort of relaxed in attempts to be friendly.
"Great! I'll tell everybody to get ready for this weekend!"
You smiled, locking your phone. Now you need to come up with another plan. It's okay, your confession is still going to happen!
