Chapter 5

"I was thinking of an excuse if you would have just given me another minute or two." Dahyun shook her head.

You lightly frowned. "Yeah but what if they still wanted to go? Then it would have been so awkward if Seojoon rejected me right then and there in front of his friends!"

"Good point but still." Dahyun replied.

Currently, the two of you were on the bus, waiting to get off your stop to the amusement park. Dahyun came up with another plan for you to confess. She's going to suggest a haunted house towards the end of the night, you're going to pretend you don't feel well and ask Seojoon to stay with you. In that time, you're going to lead him in front of the fountain and confess! It sounded like a fool proof plan to you.

The bus slowly stopped and the doors opened. Dahyun and you got off the bus. You were thankful after seeing how much studying and progress you made on various applications to a few universities that your parents let you go out. All you have to do is ace your exams and get accepted! And maybe find a boyfriend?

Walking towards the entrance, you spotted the group of friends. All right, you're going to have fun this entire day! You couldn't wait for tonight.

The day was filled with laughter, rides, games and food. And the moment was approaching. Once you noticed the sun almost disappearing from the horizon, you shared a look with Dahyun.

She nodded and awkwardly cleared her throat. "Hey guys, let's do a haunted house! I saw one back there." She pointed to where she saw it.

Most of the guys cheered in response, eager to go in. Here's your cue to set the entire thing into motion. "You guys can go ahead, I'll stay out here. I feel a little sick from eating all the food today."

All of a sudden, Taehyung wrapped his arm around your shoulders. "I'll stay out here with you!"

It took a minute to figure out what he said. What?! No this was not the plan! You looked at Dahyun and she was as flabbergasted as you. You don't know what to do!  How rude is it to say no, I wanted someone else?! Pathetically, you watched as the group along with Seojoon left to go into the house.

Taehyung stood by your side while you took a seat on the bench. This isn't going well...

"Did you need some water?" Taehyung asked. "Or maybe some medicine? I think there's some in the gift shop."

"No, it's okay." Even you could hear the slight disappointment in your voice. Your lips were trying to stay neutral and not betray you by frowning.

Taehyung lightly frowned. "It's okay, we can go into the haunted house when we come back next time. I'll go get you some water okay?" Without another word, he left.

You sighed to yourself. Your whole plan is now ruined. You know that Taehyung was trying to be a good friend and all but you couldn't help but be disappointed. It would have been rude to interject and say no. As you were deep in thought, footsteps snapped you out of them.

"Where did Taehyung go?"

You were startled and saw that it was Seojoon. "He left to get some water... What are you doing here?"

Seojoon nodded as he took a seat next to you. "I wanted to be sure that you were okay... I couldn't really focus on the haunted house."

Oh my. Your face was warm and you could feel your heart beating erratically. Maybe it's your thoughts that are running wild but you had to say it. Right then and there.

"Seojoon," You began, hands starting to nervously play with each other. "I like you. I know that you probably don't like me but I want to say it." You were looking away from him the entire time so scared of his reaction.
