Next day morning I woke up feeling unrealistically tired.
Obviously the smoking and crying had taken a toll.
Thankfully it was a Sunday.
I could hear Samar and Toshu fighting over something random outside. Typical sibling behaviour. Moti Baa was asking them to calm down.
I heard Baa, "Uff! It's so late and Anupamaa is still not awake."
I instantly looked to my side.
She was right there, asleep.
Obviously yesterday had taken a toll on her too. I sat up, my head felt heavy.
There was another ping on my mobile.
I sighed and picked it up.
The message pulled the breath out of me, "I am coming to your house and letting everyone know the truth. I need you with me."
From Rittika.
And the next thing I heard was her smooth voice.
"Good morning, Moti Baa."
I jumped off my bed, wore a shirt over my vest and rushed out in my pajamas.
She looked at me pretty instantaneously.
"I am here to talk about something important."
This woman will just not let me live in peace. If Moti Baa came to know I once had a girlfriend, I would be instantly disowned as the bad son of the family.
"Important? Come in, beta. Gutlu has just woken up, though.", She looked at me.
I nodded awkwardly.
"Wake Anupamaa as well. The talk is actually with her.", She said, smiling.
"Baa.. I am so so sorry-", Anupamaa was just rushing out of the room when she saw Rittika and paused.
"Ah! See I am perfectly on time.", Rittika said happily and walked in through the doors, opening her shoes.
She sat on the sofa.
I knew I had paled three tones.
Anupamaa looked at me, perplexed.
"Moti Baa.. I want to tell you a truth.", Rittika said softly.
"The truth is..", She glanced at me.
I suddenly realised I was at a loss of words.
"The truth is Vanraj and I loved each other."
I felt my world crumble and shatter in a matter of seconds.
But to add more improvement to her best attempt at getting me, she added,
"And we still do."
Talk about the end of days.
