Cold, misty, dark and gloomy. No sensory of anything. Just numbness. Couldn't think, couldn't hear, couldn't taste, couldn't do anything. He was just there. Where though? He didn't know that either.
The kettle was brewing and whistling. "Eddie-Bear, the tea is ready!" A lady called out from a beaten up living room, her back to the kitchen while she faces the television, watching the news with her feet lifted up onto a foot rest. Her feet had what looked like hundreds of scabs. There was nothing there but cracked and dry skin. Old skin that has been waiting years to be scraped or peeled off.
"Coming Ma!" A semi-young boy calls out. Walking out of the bathroom after obviously taking a steaming, hot shower. His dark brown hair still fairly wet as the blow dryer did not do a good job.
The boy was almost an adult, yet still looked 13, his baby face not leaving. He was wearing a yellow polo-shirt, with one of those small pockets on the left side of the shirt. The pockets that you can't fit anything into, possibly some coins, or a few notes but that's it. He was also wearing a pair of brown shorts, made of what seemed like an itchy material. Possibly some type of leather.
The partly short brunette walked past his elder mother, he didn't look at her, not even a glance. His dull, brown eyes kept their focus on the kitchen. Once the boy had made his way there, he turned off the gaslit stove and picked up the kettle. Moving it towards the rest of the counter, where a mug had already been prepared.
Eddie Kaspbrak slowly and carefully poured the steaming, hot water into the mug. Making sure he wouldn't overfill, he kept his eyes lazer focused on the water.
Once the tea was ready, Eddie placed the kettle back onto the stove, reminding himself to refill it with water later.
Eddie walked over to the fridge, opening it to obtain milk. Failing to find it, he has to speak up.
"Ma, do we have any milk?" He asked with politeness while still searching the fridge. "We should have some in the fridge Eddie-Bear." Sonia replied back, not helping at all. "We don't seem to have any." Eddie stated and closed the fridge. He walked into the living room, stopping on the right side of his mother, so she can still watch her show.
"Should I go out and buy some?" Eddie asked, expecting to be shut down immediately. "At this time!? I think not." Sonia shook her head and had a quick glance at her wrist watch. "Please mama? It's only 4:00." Eddie nagged on. Sonia went quiet, she was either thinking about it or focusing on the news. "Mama?" Eddie asked, to relocate her attention. "Yes yes, fine you can go." Sonia agreed.
Eddie's eyes widened a tiny bit in surprise. "Thanks ma!" Eddie said leaving the living room with a smirk on his baby face. "Be home before dark though!" Sonia demanded by yelling. "Of course." Eddie agreed, not bothered to ask for more time out.
Usually Eddie wouldn't necessarily care whether he was allowed to go outside or not. But his best friend Richie's birthday was the next day, and he still hadn't gotten a present. With helping his mother and trying to keep the house clean, he hasn't had the chance to get outside and go shopping.
It was around 4:15 when he actually left the house, after he had walked outside and shut the front door, he began his journey. A journey to the grocery store and then the comic book store. It was originally planned to be a quick trip, but little did he know it was about to become a living nightmare.
Walking along the abandoned streets of Derry, Eddie was stuck alone with his thoughts. Not another person was in site. The only sign of humanity was all of the cars outside almost every house.
"I wonder what comic book I'll get Rich.." Eddie thought to himself. "He's got like every fucking comic book ever." He kept on walking while thinking, not sure what to get his long-term crush.
"What if I got him flowers.. or something sweet? Something that shows, 'Hey, I like you.' " Eddie thought some more, he was practically drowning in his ideas.
Next thing he knew, Eddie was at the shops, ready to buy milk and a present. Still not sure what he wanted to buy Richie, he took a bit longer browsing than intended.
Eddie was in the card isle, his basket empty with nothing inside of it. Which indicated he had forgotten the real reason he was allowed out.
A loud beep hurt his delicate ears, "The store will be closing in five minutes, if possible please start to finish up your shopping. Thank you." A voice on the intercom stated.
Realisation hit Eddie hard in the face. He checked his watch, realising it was almost 6:00 gave Eddie goosebumps. "Oh shit.." Eddie mumbled to himself. "She's gonna kill me!" He then said outloud, referring to Sonia.
Eddie glanced around, there was no sign of anyone, not even a worker. Eddie quickly speed-walked to the diary isle, hurrying to find skim milk. Once he had found the exact right one, he skedaddled right out of there; after paying of course.
On his way home Eddie realised that he had spent almost two hours searching for a present for his best friend, who also happens to be his crush. Still walking, he also realised how stupid that was, and that he could've just given Richie chocolate or something. Now that's when he realised he didn't even end up buying anything for him, and only got the milk. Which yes, was the main reason Eddie went shopping. But majority of the time there he spent looking for a gift. Eddie shook his head and huffed.
He continued to walk, for what felt like an eternity. At this point, it was starting to get darker by the minute.
The sky was clear with no clouds in site. The moon was almost full and was shining like a disco ball, just without the flashing lights.
A street away from his humble abide, Eddie started slowing down. Admiring the beautiful view of the moon hidden behind the trees felt surreal to Eddie. Soon, he stopped walking; and just gazed. He gazed up into the sky, looking at the beauty of the universe. Eddie had been stuck inside for so long, he had forgotten how refreshing the outside really is.
Taking a deep breath in, Eddie was cut off by a brief jumpscare. A brown, what seemed to be a bag, object was placed over Eddie's head. Struggling to breathe, Eddie tried yelling as hard as he could. No one heard. Dropping the milk to the hard concrete and throwing his hands around made him exhausted. He was being picked up and moved. He couldn't hear a thing. Not a peep, not a sound. Just the crickets in the far background.
Eddie's screams turned into muffles. Suddenly, he felt sleepy. Like he hadn't rested in twenty years and forgot what a bed was.
Soon, his eyes shut and didn't open. His eyes didn't open until months later.
Pitch black is all he saw. Darkness and numbness became his best friends.
Eddie Kaspbrak has been kidnapped.
He tried to scream, he tried to call out for help, but nothing. No one heard, no one saw, it was like he just disappeared out of thin air.
Hey guys! I'm so so so so sorry about not posting for... months?
