(A Few Days Later)

I sit in my apartment with Scarlett, who had insisted she came over to mine and hang out. I'm glad she's here and we are spending alone time together, but she has constantly been talking about Colin. Every other conversation we have she brings him up, so I get up and go into my kitchen to grab myself a beer hoping it'd help me bite my tongue. I turn around to leave seeing her standing behind me, startling me a little. "Jeez Scar, you scared me."

"Sorry, I just came to get a water" She giggles reaching past me and opening the fridge.

"You know I would've brought you one if you wanted." I chuckle opening my drawer and grabbing the bottle opener.

"I know, but I thought I can get it myself" She shoots me a wink as she pulls a water bottle out of the fridge. I just let out a small laugh as I pop the cap off the beer bottle. "You know Colin likes that beer! He's even tried bringing some to the house just to have for when he's over." I sigh and begin chugging the beer as Scarlett looks at me with a look of concern. "Jesus Y/n slow down!" She exclaims.

I stop chugging setting the bottle on my counter, "What? It's good" I force a smile before grabbing the bottle again ready to drink.

But she grabs my wrist stopping me, "What's wrong? I've never seen you drink like that unless we were out at a party or something." She says furrowing her brows at me.

"Nothing I'm fine." I bring the bottle back to my lips bringing her hand with me.

"Stop for a minute!" She pulls my hand down causing me to spill some beer on my shirt. "Oh no Y/n I'm sorry I didn't mean for you to spill!"

I take a deep breath setting the bottle back on the counter and then wipe my shirt where I spilled. "It's fine Scar, it'll come out" I half smile at her, "I'll just go change"

"Wait." She pulls on my wrist stopping me from leaving the kitchen.

"Yea?"

"Please tell me what's wrong. You've been acting weird the past few weeks." She frowns which makes my heart hurt.

'I can't tell her... I don't fully know... I have to say something else' I think to myself before taking her hand off of my wrist with a sigh. "I was hoping to talk about something other than your boyfriend today."

"I haven't mentioned him that much." She falls silent for a moment looking at the floor and then back at me, "Have I?"

"A little bit yea." I rub my forearm beginning to feel nervous and awkward.

"I'm sorry I didn't even realize how much I was talking about him! Damn it I feel like shit now" She whines, putting her face in her hands.

"Hey come here" I step forward, wrapping my arms around her, bringing her into a hug. "You don't need to feel like shit or even apologize. You weren't doing it on purpose." I squeeze her tighter feeling her wrap her arms around my waist. "I know you're excited about this new relationship, and I'm glad you're happy. But is it selfish of me to ask you to shut up about your boyfriend for 5 minutes?" I joke a little, hoping to make her laugh.

She pulls back chuckling lightly, "No no it's not selfish, you can be annoyed at me constantly bringing him up. But next time, tell me, don't chug over half a bottle of beer" She pushes me back softly making me laugh.

"Alright no chugging of alcohol" I chuckle and lean back against the counter smiling.

"And I'll tone it down on the Colin talk" She smiles softly back at me while opening her water bottle.

"Deal. Now let's go back in the living room" I give her a little wink before grabbing my bottle from the counter.

"Aren't you going to change your shirt?" She queries pointing at the spot on my shirt that was slightly wet still from the spill.

"It's almost dry already it's fine. I'll shower tonight so I don't smell of beer for work tomorrow." I say while walking out into my living room.

I sit down watching Scarlett quickly sit down next to me and sniff towards me. "You don't stink that bad" She giggles as I give her a weird look.

"Did you just sniff me?" I let out a chuckle.

"Yea, because I was checking if you did smell like beer." She shrugs looking me up and down.

"You're weird"

"That's rude!" She gasps and slaps my arm as I begin laughing.

"I'm sorry but you're the one who sniffed me"

"You said you smelled like beer! So I was checking for you" She grumbles in annoyance as I continue laughing.

"I said so I don't smell like beer!" I exclaim over exaggeratedly.

"Same difference!"

"Why are we yelling now!?" I yell as she now begins laughing.

"I don't know! Maybe because you called me weird!" She laughs hitting me on my arm again.

"And I'll say it again! Now can we stop yelling!?" I grab on to her shoulders and shake her back and forth softly.

Which prompts her grab my face and yell "Yes!" Before laughing and letting go of me. "I hate you sometimes" She sighs leaning her head on my shoulder.

"Nah you know you love me all the time Scar" I tease, nudging her slightly with my shoulder.

"Yea right" She giggles softly still leaning her head on me. "I love you, definitely not all the time" She teases back looking up at me.

"Liar" I huff as she laughs, wrapping her arms around my waist.

So we go back to talking and watching tv for a couple hours. She didn't even mention Colin, until her phone began ringing. "Oh it's Colin.." She sits up straight looking down at her phone.

"It's ok you can answer it" I chuckle lightly.

She kisses my cheek while getting up off the couch and answers the phone. I watch as she walks away into my kitchen, "Hey babe!" She says disappearing into the kitchen. "I can't I'm with Y/n right now" Hearing my name, my nosy ass turns the tv down some to listen in on what she was saying. "I know but I haven't hung out with just her as much" There's silence for a few moments before she starts talking again, "Is it super important?" I sigh looking down at my empty bower bottle on the table in front of me. "Can it wait?" There's silence again then she starts again. "Ok ok fine. I'll see you soon. Bye" I turn the tv back up to where it was as Scarlett walks back into the room.

"You have to leave don't you?" I query looking over at her as she sits down next to me sighing.

"Yes. I'm sorry! He said he needs me to come over it's really important. We can hangout again tomorrow" She pouts grabbing onto my hands.

"I have work I can't"

"I'm sorry" She frowns.

"It's ok I understand, I'm glad I got to spend time with you today at all" I smile standing up holding my hand out to her.

"Are you sure it's ok? You're not going to be mad at me?" She checks, grabbing my hand and getting up off the couch.

"I'm sure. I won't be mad at you I promise" I give her a small kiss on the cheek and walk her to the door.

"Ok. I did have a good time with you today, I miss hanging out just us" She smiles bringing me in for a hug.

"So do I. I'll call you tomorrow if I have time" I hug her tightly, saying us back and forth.

"Good! I'll see you later"

"Bye" I smile as she kisses my cheek and leaves my apartment. I watch her walk down the the elevator, she turns and waves to me before getting on to the elevator. I sigh shutting my door and turning to the table spotting my empty bottle again. Seeing it I call up Talia, after a few rings she answers. "Hey. You want to go out for a few drinks?"
