If Only You Knew

Chapter 6

Today is my day off and also the day I'm hanging out with Liv. I still feel weird about it as Scarlett isn't sure about trusting her and I've never hung out with her by ourselves. I've left my apartment and got to my car when I get a call from Scarlett. "Hey Scar"

"Hey! Are you in your car?" She queries as I turn my car on.

"Yea. I'm going to hangout with Liv" I chuckle lightly.

She's silent for a few moments then sighs. "I forgot that was today"

"Did you want to hangout? I can always reschedule. You're my best friend, that makes you more of a priority"

"No no it's ok! I'll just go hang out with Colin. Maybe I'll have him make me something" She laughs while I back out of my parking spot.

"Are you sure?" I check.

"Yes I'm sure. I'll go bother Colin, so don't worry"

"Alright.. If you want we can hang out tomorrow before work?" I suggest, driving to the cafe to meet with Liv.

"Sure that sounds great! I'll see you tomorrow then"

"See you tomorrow. Bye" She giggles before hanging up, so I sigh clicking my phone off and focus on driving. I end up getting to the cafe before Liv does so I go in and sit more towards the back to wait for her. A few minutes pass by and I see her walk in and immediately spot me. She waves while quickly walking towards me. "Hey Liv" I wave back with a smile.

"Hey! You weren't waiting for line were you?" She asks, sitting down across the table from me.

"No not long. I just got here a few minutes ago." I smile feeling a little awkward already.

"Oh good, I didn't realize I was running so late" She laughs putting her hand on her forehead. I chuckle awkwardly and take a deep breath. "Have you ordered yet?"

"No not yet, I was waiting for you to get here. I can go get us something to drink though." I get up from my seat smiling.

"Are you sure? I can get my own" She chuckles going to stand up.

I shake my head and put my hand out stopping her from getting up. "No it's ok I got it. What do you want?" She tells me what she wants so I go up to the register and order our drinks. I look over at her while walking to the pick up counter. She's sitting on her phone seemingly texting someone. So I start taking deep breaths hoping the awkwardness I'm feeling will go away. Once the drinks our done and the barista brings them out, I walk back to our table and set her drink down. "Here you go"

"Thank you Y/n" She smiles widely and grabs the cup taking a sip. "Are you ok?" She asks immediately after I sit down.

"Yea I'm ok. I just.. feel a little awkward. We never really hangout by ourselves." I chuckle nervously, thinking about how Scarlett also doesn't trust her much.

"Well... these are in to go cups. Why don't we go for a walk? Maybe that will help make it less awkward" She suggests with a smile.

"A walk? Just around the block?" I query making her giggle a bit.

"Yes around the block!" She stands up and holds her hand out to me. "Let's go for a walk" I grab her hand taking a deep breath once again and get up from my seat. We grab our cups and head out of the cafe.

"Any ice breakers?" I look over at her, noticing we are still holding hands.

"Ice breakers? Um" She thinks quietly for a few seconds before looking at me with a smile. "Are you dating anyone? Boyfriend? Or girlfriend?"

"That's your ice breaker?" I laugh as she rolls her eyes at me.

"Fine don't answer the question" She huffs and takes a drink of her coffee.

"No I'm not dating anyone" I chuckle lightly as we continue our walk.

"Anyone you like?" She queries.

I raise an eyebrow at her question, "There's... one person that comes to mind. But it doesn't matter they aren't interested." I look down at my feet.

"Really? Why not! You're an amazing person! You're so sweet and funny. Beautiful too" She nudges my arm making me look over at her again.

"Is that right? You're too kind" I chuckle. "What about you? Since you're so interested in my love life, how's yours going?" I smirk playfully as she giggles.

"I'm not dating anyone. I haven't found anyone that I like. Well that might now be true now, we'll see" She wiggles her eyebrows at me while taking a drink.

"Do you have someone in my mind?" I query, trying to keep the conversation going.

"I might. But I'm not telling!"

"What? Come on! Now I want to know" I laugh as she just shakes her head no laughing as well. "Not even a hint?"

"Nope! But you'll find out soon enough" She smirks and winks playfully at me.

"I'll find out soon? So not now?"

"No not now!" She laughs, bumping into me playfully. We continue walking and drinking our coffee for a little bit. After walking around the block we headed back to our cars. "What do you want to do now?"

"We could go to the movies? If you want to"

"Sure! That sounds fun. I'll follow you to the theater" she smiles and walks to her car which is parked next to mine.

"Alright see you there" I chuckle while climbing into my car. We drive off to the movies, once we're there I get a text from Scarlett asking how it's going. I texted her back before getting out of my car but didn't hear back from her. After the movie we decided to go back to our homes.

"I had a lot of fun today, it was nice hanging out with you" She smiles softly.

"I had a good time too, it was fun. We'll have to hangout again sometime" I smile back to which she quickly pulls me into a hug.

"I'd love that! I'll see you later" She let's go and steps back towards her car.

"Bye, see you later" I wave to her before getting back into my car and heading home. When I get home I text Scarlett telling her I'm home. Shortly after I get a call off her.

"Y/n!"

"Scarlett!" I laugh as she groans from the other end of the phone. "What's up?"

"I just wanted to call you and tell you goodnight. How was the movie?"

"It was good. I'm about to hop in the shower and get ready for bed" I walk into my room dropping my bag on the bed.

"That's good. I'll let you go take your shower. I'll see you tomorrow if you still want to hangout?"

"Of course I do. I'll see you tomorrow" I smile looking down at the bag I just dropped into the bed.

Bye Y/n, goodnight!"

"Goodnight Scar" I chuckle lightly and hang up the phone.  Then I take a shower and get ready for bed.
