Chapter 11

I sip at my coffee as Scarlett stops in front of me, glaring at me as I stall. She begins tapping her foot becoming impatient, now crossing her arms over her chest. "Y/n."

"Ok ok, I'm sorry.." I take a deep breath watching her start drinking from her cup. I wait a moment to finish up her sips. "How do I start this..."

"You can tell me anything. We're best friends, remember?" Her glare quickly turns into a smile as she playfully bumps my arm with hers.

"I know.. I just don't know how you're going to react." I take an even deeper breath trying to control my anxiety. I quickly decide I just have to come out and say it, "I'm in a relationship... with Liv." Her face drops and she nearly lets go of her cup.

"You're... you're what!?" She exclaims making my whole body tense up. "When did this happen!?"

"Last week! When we were all supposed to hang out... she confessed her feelings.. the more I thought about it... the more I realized I was starting to really like her." I explain nervously as she laughs in disbelief and shakes her head.

"Stop!" She puts her hand up to which I immediately shut my mouth. "I have so many questions and concerns." She scoffs pinching the ridge of her nose in annoyance.

"Concerns?" I query nervously.

"Yes concerns! Liv hates me! Who knows what her real motive is for dating you! You know she was never nice to me after I got that part over her Y/n! She was always making rude comments, she even insulted my baby!" She's now yelling making a scene as people begin looking at us.

"Scar please keep your voice down." I try grabbing her arms but she steps back fuming. "I'm sorry ok? I know what she did in the past was wrong and not ok in any way. But she apologized! And she wanted to apologize again in person"

"Bullshit! She's probably just using you Y/n! You need to see that!" She yells, her comment slighting hurting my heart.

"What? You don't think maybe she actually likes me? And wants to be with me?" I frown knowing that's probably not what she meant, but it still hurt.

"No that's not what I was saying" She sighs groaning in frustration. "Of course she can! You're great! But I mean I didn't even know you were Bi..." Her voice softens, sounding slightly sad at the last part of her sentence.

"I barely know myself! I didn't want to say anything, besides it's not like it matters much for you." I mumble turning away from her.

"I can't believe this. You know how I feel about her! You know what she's done to me!" She stomps her foot angrily stepping towards me.

"Yes I know! But you're going to have to play nice with her! She's my girlfriend now. You don't see me complaining a bunch about Colin do you!?" I scoff as she looks shocked at the mention of Colin.

"No but why would you complain about him for??" She furrows her brows now confused.

"That's not important! Why are you so mad about it? I knew you'd be upset but not this mad!" I exclaim. I immediately cover my mouth seeing her face turn red in anger.

"Because!.... You're dating Liv! The one person I don't like! I can't believe you." She scoffs pushing her drink into my chest. "You can drink this. I'm done with this conversation."

"What? Wait we aren't done! I'm sorry Scarlett! Please let's just talk this out." I plea as she turns away from me.

"No."

"Scarlett please!"

"No!" She spins around, tears now forming in her eyes. "I can be upset ok!? I.. I just need time to process this. So please just leave me alone. I'm sorry I need to be alone." She says before hurrying off.

"Scarlett! Wait!" I walk quickly after her back towards my apartment. "Don't go Scar! I'm sorry. We were supposed to have a fun day."

"Stop Y/n. I don't want to talk to you right now." She motions for me to back off.

"So what? Are you going to stop talking to me now because I'm dating Liv!?" I exclaim making her stop in her tracks.

"You really think I'd do that? Just because you're dating her you think I'd just stop being your friend?" She scrunches up her face upset and pushes her finger into my chest. "I'm mad at you but I'm not shallow! But thanks for thinking I'd do that to you" She turns back around and starts walking away again.

"I'm sorry I don't think you'd do that." I sigh starting after her again.

"No! Leave me the hell alone Y/n! Just stop!" She turns around and yells at me one last time before storming off again.

I stop in my tracks feeling a pit in my stomach. That went way worse than I thought it was going to go. I feel my chest tightening which leads me to drop Scarlett's drink she shoved in my hand. I try taking deep breaths as I pick up the spilled drink and throw it in the garbage. I frantically call Talia but she doesn't answer cause she's at work. So I call Liv and she almost immediately answers. "Hey babe!"

"Are you... are you busy?" I ask softly, trying to calm myself down.

"No not at all. What's wrong? You sound upset." She queries.

"I told Scarlett about us and it didn't go well. She just stormed off and is going home now." I sigh frowning while my chest still feels tight.

"Oh no I'm sorry. Do you want me to come over?" She says sounding worried.

"Yes. Id like that.." A small smile forms across my lips as I begin walking back to my apartment.

"I'll be over right away! I'll see you in a few minutes!"

"Thank you. Bye" I hang up putting my phone away and walking somberly back to my apartment complex. I look at the spot where Scarlett had been parked at before and just sighed sadly. I decide to take the stairs back up to my apartment. Once I'm back up to my apartment I lay down on my couch and wait for Liv. After about 10 minutes Liv comes knocking, "come in"

She opens the door and immediately walks over to the couch. "Oh babe.." She sits down laying my head on her lap. "What happened?" I explain how we got into an argument and how pissed of Scarlett was at me. After I finished she leans down kissing me softly. "I'm sorry that happened. I'm sure she just needs some time to cool off and process everything. She's your best friend, she'll come around and you'll be back to normal. Just give her some time."

"You know just what to say don't you?" I smile softly as she chuckles. "Thank you"

"You're very welcome babe" She leans down kissing me again. "Why don't we watch some movies and cuddle on the couch for awhile?"

"That sounds great. I'd like that" I smile sitting up as she turns the tv on. She then leans into me while I wrap my arms around her. She puts on a movie and cuddles up into me making me smiles and lean my head on hers. This is going to be a long night still.
