If Only You Knew

Chapter 4

"Slow down there Y/n" Talia laughs as I finish my third bottle of beer, sitting back down next to me at the bar.

"Don't you start too" I mumble waving at the bar tender.

"Hey don't be all depressed, you told her it was ok if she left for the night." I glare over at her as the bar tender hands me another drink. "You'll need to talk to me at some point about it you know"

"I'm fine, everything is just fine" I say before starting to drink my fourth beer.

"You suck at lying" She chuckles as I roll my eyes over at her.

"Don't start, or I'm going to start doing shots." I warn, pointing as the shot glasses behind the bar.

"Alright fine I won't" She grabs her drink from in front of her turning to face forward. She then goes silent and just starts twirling her drink around starting to annoy me slightly.

"I hate you." I sigh laying my head on the bar as she silently pats my back. "I hate when you do this. Fine you want to know?" I say looking up at her but then immediately bite my tongue as she stares at me, waiting for me to tell her. "Part of it, is that I have.. feelings for Scarlett." I sigh.

"Well yea. I could've told you that Y/n" She shrugs taking a drink as I stare at her in confusion.

"What?"

"I've known you for a few years now Y/n. I know when you like someone, and I don't blame you. You and Scarlett get along great," She explains vaguely turning away from me.

"No no" I grab her chair and spin her back to face me. "You know? I barely know!" I exclaim making her laugh.

"I know you've never dated a girl before, but you and I both know you've had some girl crushes." She states as I continue to stare at her in disbelief.

"So wait you could tell I have feelings for her?"

"Yes. Why don't you ask her out?" She queries raising an eyebrow at her.

I sigh turning away from her, "Because she... she's straight. I highly doubt she has feelings for me like that Talia."

"You never know" She shrugs nudging my arm.

"Trust me. I know." I frown taking another drink of my beer.

She's silent for a few moments then puts her hand on my shoulder smiling. "Let's talk about something else then ok?" I smile sadly and nod in agreement, so she quickly changes the subject and begins talking about work. After about an hour Talia gets up sighing, "Sorry Y/n but I'm heading home, I have work in the morning."

"It's ok, thanks for coming out with me anyway" I smile turning to face her in my barstool.

"Of course, you should also go home you have work too." She pats my shoulder with a smile.

"Yea, you're right. I'll go home soon"

"Good. Now I'll talk to you later"

"See ya." I wave bye to her as she leaves then turn back to the bar grabbing my drink. I continue drinking for a bit until I order a water. Then I feel a light tap on my shoulder.

"Hey Y/n" A familiar face greets me as I turn my head to look who tapped me.

"Oh, uh hey Liv" I smile as she now stands beside me.

"Mind if I sit?" She asks pointing to where Talia had been sitting before.

"Not at all, go ahead"

"Thanks. It's been awhile since we've seen each other!" She giggles and waves the bartender over to us.

"True, how have you been? Did you ever land that role you were trying to get last we talked?" I query as she orders herself a drink.

"Oh, yea I did! I just got done filming not too long ago. But I've been good, I've missed you!" She smiles and takes a sip of her drink.

"You did? Why?" I raise a curious brow at her.

"Because we are friends and it's been awhile since I've seen you duh" Liv laughs playfully pushing me by the arm. 

"It has been awhile, I just thought you were mad at Scarlett still." I chuckle taking a drink of my water.

"Don't be ridiculous. That's all water under the bridge now remember?" She laughs shaking her head as I try to remember. "Oh I forgot to ask, how are you doing?"

"I'm doing ok. Just working and hanging out." I sigh looking down at the bar.

"Are you ok? You seem sad" She says softly, then I feel her hand on my shoulder making me look up at her.

"I'm fine just a long night. So do you have another movie lined up anytime soon?" I ask trying to change the subject.

"No actually, right now I'm free for a few months." She smiles taking her hand away from me. "You know what we should do?"

"Huh?" I furrow my brows at her, slightly concerned about the look she is giving me.

"We should hangout just you and me sometime. I have time off so I'm free!" Her smile widens as turns to me on her seat.

"You want to hangout with just me?" I query raising an eyebrow at her.

"Yes! Again you're my friend Y/n I'd like to hang out with you." She rolls her eyes hugging as I laugh.

"Right sorry. But sure we can hangout sometime, I'm usually free after work" I smile at her then take a drink of my water.

"Great! Do you have my number? So we can plan a day to hang out." She smiles reaching into her back pocket to pull out her phone.

"I think so yea, let me check" I pull my phone out from my pocket and go into my contacts. I scroll down to L and see her name. "I do have you in my phone"

"That's great! Speaking of work, do you work tomorrow?" She queries.

"I do actually..." I look down at my phone to see it's nearly half past midnight. "Shit I have to get home actually! I need to get to bed" I stand up chugging the rest of my water.

"I'll walk you out. I should head home too" She smiles and holds her hand out to me as she stands up.

I look down at her hand taking a deep breath then take her hand. She starts softly pulling me towards the front doors through the small crowd still in the bar. We get to my car with her still holding onto my hand, "Thanks for walking with me. Are you sure you don't want me to walk you to your car?"

"It's ok, my cars just a few spots away from yours actually." She smiles and squeezes my hand slightly.

"Oh ok, I'll talk to you later about hanging out" I smile letting go of her hand slightly awkwardly.

"Sounds good. I'll talk to you later Y/n" She grabs my shoulders and kisses my cheek before walking off to her car.

I stand silently for a few moments watching her as I stand in confusion at her kissing my cheek. I shake my head and get into my car then drive home to get some sleep for work tomorrow.
