This story is being moved to its own!

It's still called Shifting Truth, and I'll slowly be publishing it there now.

These chaps will stay here for a little longer. After a while, I'll delete them from this book.

This chap was is actually one that's double as long than usual, but since I'm moving the story, take this as a preview.

Hope to see you in the other book!

Around a month had now passed since it all first happened. Conan had been able to live normally during that time with minimum unwanted attention because of his cat features. And there were still few who knew about his dog side.

Ran happily hummed as she held Conan's hand as they and Kogoro walked down the street during the evening. Conan still couldn't believe the girl's luck, as she had won a ticket for a free meal to a five-star restaurant. And with minimum incidents happening with him in public, they had decided that it would be fine for all of them to go.

The street was mostly empty of people on their way to the building. When arriving at the skyscraper, they all looked up in awe.

"Ne, ne, is it on the top floor?" Conan asked Ran, his tail swaying in interest.

"Hai!" beamed Ran down at him with a wide smile. "So we'll be getting a great view of the city!"

Conan smiled, but turned to glance at Kogoro, who was still staring up at the top. "Will Ojisan be alright?" he asked, turning back to Ran.

"He'll be fine," reassured Ran with a dismissing wave. "He won't be taking the window seats either way."

A small chuckle left Conan, and he looked up again.

As Conan stepped out from the bathroom, a noise of something crashing made his ear twitch. He turned to look further down the hallway and saw that an elevator and staircase going down were at the end. Hearing that the noise came from the stairs, Conan's curiosity grew, and he silently stepped over and peeked around the corner to look down.

He could hear movement right around the corner of where the stairs turned to go further down. From the steps shuffling around, he could hear there were two people.

A sudden grunt of pain came from one, and Conan's eyes widened. The sound of a person and something heavy falling came, and all that was left in the silence was a man's panting.

Conan stealthily ran down the first steps, as silent as a cat, and he peeked through the failings to observe.

An average-looking man stood over the fallen body of a slightly larger man, a metal box with blood laying next to them. Conan narrowed his eyes, taking in every detail he could from him.

The culprit glanced around the room he was in. Turning to the side, he shoved at one of the metal shelves right by him, and dragged it over towards the man. When close enough, he tipped the shelf and let it crash down right by the other.

Conan forced back a yelp as he jumped at the loud crash, his ears folding down in slight pain. But he looked back up and snarled when seeing the man bolting off. "I'm not letting you get away," snarled Conan, and took off after the man. He knew that someone must have heard the crash and would find the man, so he went for the culprit.

"Oh, and what do we have here?" grinned the man, slowly stepping towards him. Conan's tail puffed up fiercely, and a snarl through bared teeth came from him as he slowly stepped back as the man approached him. "Ah! You're that boy rumoured around! The boy with real cat features," said the man, and his grin grew darker. "I never really believed it, but you really are a sight to behold."
