A sigh left Conan as he blankly stared out the window of the train going from Ekoda. His schoolbag was on his lap, as the train was really full this early in the morning, but he made sure to wake up even earlier to not come in the worst morning rush.

"Back to elementary..." muttered Conan to himself, his chin held in his palm as he leaned onto his bag. 'And Kaito just had to place me as a prankster like himself...' groaned Conan, and sat up, shaking his head. 'I will give him the fun of me using magic in classes, but not to his level.'

The train arrived at Beika station, and Conan jumped off his seat to step out among the crowds. No one in the crowd took much notice of him, as he skillfully stepped around everyone with his small form, going fully unnoticed by all.

When out of the station, Conan grabbed a deck of cards, having gotten that habit from Kaito during the last days. He needed something to fidget with, and shuffling a deck of cards was good enough.

"Conan-kun!" came a call, and Conan stopped in his tracks. He blinked and looked around, and his eyes landed on two female teens running towards him. "Ohayou, Conan-kun!" greeted Ran with a wide smile.

"Ran-neechan?" asked Conan, blinking up at her in confusion. "Ah, um, ohayou, but what are you doing here?"

"I thought you'd be taking this train, so I came to pick you up!" smiled Ran.

"A-ah... You don't need to do that," reassured Conan, shaking his head at the girl, who pouted at him.

"Ran, he's the reason you wanted to leave earlier?" asked Ran's companion, and Conan turned to her. He blinked again when seeing that Sonoko had joined Ran, and was kind of surprised to see the girl willing to go out this early in the morning for school. "Who is he, exactly."

Ran beamed over to her friend, then crouched down by Conan, her smile wide and bright. "Sonoko, this is Conan-kun!" she introduced. "He's a cousin of Shinichi and Kaito! He's really smart for his age and is able to keep up with both of them! They've even called him a prodigy!"

"Oh?" asked Sonoko, glancing down at the boy.

Conan took notice of her studying him, and he didn't want her to connect him to 'childhood Shinichi'. "Hajimemashite, Sonoko-neechan!" beamed Conan, summoning a rose to hand the girl. "I'm Edogawa Conan! I'm living with Kaito-niichan right now in Ekoda, but we'll be moving between there and their mansion here in Beika!"

The girl immediately beamed out, accepting the rose with a wide smile. "My, aren't you cute!" smiled Sonoko, holding the rose. "I can see you're cousin of Kaito now, but what about Shinichi?"

"Well, I love Sherlock Holmes and mysteries like Shinichi-niichan!" explained Conan with a wide smile. "He's taken me to cases as well to teach me everything I needed to know to be a Meitantei!"

A scoff left Ran, crossing her arms as she stood up. "That Shinichi." A grin spread over Sonoko as she teasingly chuckled at the girl, who grew slightly flustered, much to Conan's confusion. He blinked and tilted his head, and the moment Ran took notice of him, she shook her head and turned around. "L-let's get going now, Conan-kun!"

"Eh?" said Conan, head still tilted, but nodded and followed after the girls.

"Alright, everyone!" called Kobayashi with a bright smile as she stood in front of class 1-B of Teitain Elementary School. "I'm happy to announce that we have a new student today!"

Awes and mutters spread across the classroom, and the teacher turned around to write out the name of the student. Edogawa Conan was written down, and she turned towards the door to call him in.
