❝ dilemma ❞

D

elhi, dil ka sheher, a gateway of every Indian soul. It's epitome of countless, hidden archaic tales, breathing in its antique smell from nitty-gritty reddish-brown lanes to chandni chowk nooks. The city's colourful aura, especially the inspirational evening skies, bidding pigeons, couldn't be enough muse for poetic minds like myself. The green scenery of Lodhi garden, tombs and temples is to die for. A solace for artist's heart. A sense of love blooming here is inexplicable. Earthy red, pastel green and silver adorning flea markets or bazaars, where the bustling crowd is evident with such a cheerfulness, which is perfect combination of chaos and bliss. A true indian-ness vibes.

This place teaches empowerment and independence in its own peculiar way. One, finds herself on the verge of strange restlessness and holding on. Like the monuments towering from ages, destroyed, teared yet glowing like summer sun, meant to stand tall depicting spirit of perseverance of our country. Delhi is kind of dilemma lying on energetic mornings, followed by lonely nights matching the cold silence of busy streets. Despite, the survival crisis amongst rat race, this city grew on me slowly, just how it evolved me from a lost girl into confident adult.

Talking about the plethora of differences in culture, food and beliefs uniting in each corner of the city is just like myriads of flowers blossoming in its gardens and footpaths. Waiting for monsoons here is like those daily mundane struggles, never ending. This city reminds me of that soothing sufi song, breathing alongwith itra, gajra or that old evergreen bollywood song brewing in tea pot beside roadside.

Unique like its existence, I learnt to find my uniqueness. Gradually, revealing and exploring its historic places like pages, revelling in the pleasurable experience. A feeling unlike anywhere. It evokes—an adventure, to try new things again and again. It made me a wanderer, in all the aspects.

If I'm to describe this city's glory in three words, it would go like "Dhadkan, dastaan aur Delhi".
