verge: a limit beyond which something occurs; brink

it was always almost, and i hated that so much
flowing seamlessly, until ambition breaks
catching glimpse of letter of dreams, only to let it go
it is always on the edge, never reaching the end
living with half expressed confession,
withering hopes at the sacred altar
it always ends up in abandoned tries and attempts
racing until middle of the road, ever so close, yet forever distant
