Wednesday was now in Xavier's dorm room, looking for the book. Of course she didn't tell Marley of what she was up to because there was no doubt that the brunette would be against her invading her best friends privacy. She did however bring Thing with her who was still a little skeptical about the whole ordeal but of course Wednesday reminded him of their little agreement and he followed without question.
After Xavier had returned from his run he immediately went to have a shower which was perfect timing for Wednesday and Thing to look for the book.
But unfortunately for them Marley had borrowed some of Xaviers pencils and needed to return them, so just as Thing went looking in come drawers and Wednesday was looking through one of his many sketch books Marley walked right in.
It took her a second to register what was happening but when she did, her eyes widened and she pointed an accusing finger at the goth.
"What the hell are you doing here?" She whisper-yelled because even though the shower was loud enough to block out their voices you could never be too sure.
"Looking for the book." Wednesday answered honestly, leaving the sketch book after she saw a drawing of herself in it and turning to face the brunette.
"And why the hell did you not tell me this?" She asked walking closer to the shorter girl.
"Because I knew this is how you would react." The goth answered getting flashlight from her bag and walking over to Rowan's old bed.
"React like what?" Marley questioned.
"Like I'm breaching his privacy." Wednesday responded turning off the lights and turning the flashlight on.
"Cause you are!" Marley exclaimed following Wednesday as the latter knelt to the ground.
She seemed to have noticed something because when the flashlight shone under the bed she laid down on the wooden floor.
"Come here," Wednesday demanded, Marley obliged and got on the floor with her. "Have you ever seen that before?" She asked.
Marley looked to where she was pointing, from the blue light you could see some finger prints on the floor, like there was a hidden compartment.
"No, no I can't say I have." Marley answered truthfully.
Wednesday reached forwards and open the compartment to reveal what looked like to be a mask, but not one of those cheap halloween ones, one you would find a person wearing at a masquerade ball.
She picked it up and got off the ground, now sitting on both her knees, Marley in the same position facing her.
"Rowan's full of surprises."She said inspecting the mask.
"Yeah no shit," Marley replied, "the hell do you think he was using that for?"
"I don't know, but I'm going to find out." Wednesday determined, standing up.
"You're going to find out?" Marley asked, getting up as well, raising an eyebrow turning her head to look at Wednesday.
"Fine. We're going to find out." The goth corrected, "better?"
Marley walked over to the noirette and before passing her whispered; "much." With a smirk on her face. And walked past.
Just then there were two knocks on the door, both girls heads snapping towards the sound.
"C'mon." Marley said as she ushered both her and Wednesday under Xavier's bed.
As soon as they were out of sight Xavier came out of the bathroom and walked towards the door, but not before he turned the lights back on. Something Marley cursed herself for because she wouldn't have forgotten under different circumstances.
