After Wednesday and Rowan were sent to the infirmary class was dismissed. Most people went back to their dorms but Marley had some books she needed to return, so instead she made her way to the library.

While she was in their it started to rain, of course she didn't bring an umbrella, just her luck. So while she was walking through the school trying to get to back to her dorm without getting to wet, she noticed a certain noirette with an umbrella, lucky her.

But unlucky for her a gargoyle from the railing above started to move. Marley noticed this a bit before Wednesday did and started running.

The shorter girl was to busy watching the gargoyle fall down to notice the brunette about to tackle her out of the way.

"Wednesday!" She shouted, before she brought her to the ground.

The statue crashed on the floor one second after both girls hit the ground.

Marley got off her to see that Wednesday had been knocked out from the impact on the solid concrete.

So she picked her up and brought her back to infirmary. Which was easier than she thought, the goth was surprisingly light for all the sarcasm she carried with her.

It had been a little while since Marley brought Wednesday to the nurses office and she hadn't left her side at all.

She just happened to be standing when she woke up.

"Welcome back." She smiled.

The other girl shot upright as Marley sat back down.

"Just take it easy. Nurse said you don't have a concussion but you probably have a nasty bump." She told her.

"The last thing I remember I was walking outside feeling a mixture of rage, pity and self-disgust. I never felt that way before." The patient confessed.

"Yeah, losing to Bianca has that effect on people, I think." Marley informed moving some of her still slightly wet hair out of her face.

"And then I looked up and saw that gargoyle coming down on me and I thought, 'At least I'll have an imaginative death.' Then you tackled me out of the way. Why?" She asked.

She shrugged. "Call it instinct."

"So you were guided by latent chivalry, the tool of the patriarchy, to extract my undying gratitude?" She questioned.

"Mm-hmm." Marley agreed, "Y'know most people just say thank you."

"I didn't want to be rescued." Wednesday stated.

"So I shoulda just let that thing smash you to mush?" The telekinetic retorted.

"I would have rather saved myself." She sassed.

"Yeah well last time I checked I'm the one with telekinesis here." She replied playing with her rings.

"You're hairs darker." Wednesday changed the subject.

Marley furrowed her brows. "Maybe because it's wet."

"It is." She stated.

This time it was Wednesday who's eyes softened.

"Come on, we should head back to our dorm before Enid starts a search party for us." Marley said getting out of her seat and getting her things, as well as Wednesday's bag.

"I wish there was an actual search party because then I wouldn't be at the dreaded school." Wednesday replied.

"Me too Wes, me too." Marley agreed, purposely saying the nickname waiting for a response.

But nothing, just a hum of curiosity coming from Wednesday as she took her bag from Marleys out stretched hand.

"We have to go, it's almost my writing time." The goth informed.

"Oh well we can't miss that now can we?" She said sarcasm dripping from every word.

"No." Wednesday said firmly, "We can't." She finished, leading the way back to their dorm.
