They followed Xavier to his little 'art house' as Marley would call it. She hadn't been in there for a little while, being busy with getting involved in a murder. As you do.
The girls were currently standing behind some trees which they could hide behind but were still covered. Wednesday had Thing on her shoulder and Marley was next to them, still angry about Wednesday suspecting the boy of being the monster that had been terrorising their small town for weeks now.
Xavier had just left the shed, looking around before walking away, giving the three thee perfect chance to snoop around.
"We need to do this. Xavier didn't get those scratches from fencing. He's hiding something." Wednesday said, trying to justify why she was invading his privacy... again. When she finished her little talk Thing slipped off her shoulder, leading the way.
Marley followed the shorter girl into the art studio, the door was left unlocked so it was quite easy to say the least. Marley entered last, softly closing the door behind her before turning around and making her way inside the small room.
Wednesday was the one who turned on the light, making it easier to see all of the new paintings Xavier had been working on, Marley was shocked, to say the least, at what she saw. It was drawings, paintings, charcoals all of the same thing. The monster.
"I suppose ever artist needs a muse." Wednesday quipped before picking up a few pieces of paper that were scattered. The top one looking to be a giant figure in a swirl of some kind. The second was a very detailed drawing of their towns latest murderer. "Xavier, you just became that much more interesting."
Wednesday turned off the light, apparently she found what she was looking for, Marley on the other hand had spotted something much more terrifying than the collection of portraits. It was a painting, a newer one it seemed, of none other than her parents. She quickly folded it up and shoved it in her pocket when she heard Wednesday call her name. She needed to ask Xavier about this later.
They exited the shed, Wednesday closing the door behind them and Thing now on Marley's shoulder. They had a successful trip, well, one of did at least. They didn't expect however for Xavier to still be in the vicinity of the shed.
"Wednesday, Mars." He called out, both girls stopping in their tracks, Thing crawling into Marley's pocket.
"Xavier." The goth said back to him, "Hello."
"What are you doing?" He asked the two, now directly in front of them.
"Nothing." Wednesday told him, seeing as Marley couldn't find her voice after her discovery. "We just saw you come out this way. What is this place?"
"It's kinda my private art studio. I cleared it out, fixed it up, with the help of Marley, so Weems let us use it. Mainly me though." He told her.
"How very entrepreneurial. I would love to see inside. Why don't you give me a tour?" She asked, though there was the hint of a second meaning in her tone.
"Not right now." He denied. "It's a total mess."
"I shadowed a crime scene photographer last summer. I'm not easily fazed." She informed the boy.
"Learnt that the hard way." Marley said under her breath.
"Maybe another time. Why were you looking for me?" He asked.
"I wanted to go over Ms. Thornhill's homework assignment." The ravenette lied. Marley cringed when she said this because unlike Wednesday, she remembered that Thornhill didn't give them any homework.
"She didn't give us homework. Remember?" Xavier said.
Wednesday was at a loss for words, something that has never happened before.
