We were back stage and Vic was to the side talking to Tony about my scars. I could simply tell this, because Tony kept looking down, and he was shaking. When tony was upset he would shake, Vic finally left him and Tony fell to the ground holding his face in his hands. I rushed over to him and wrapped my arms around him. I sat there, holding him, rocking back and forth. I had to be on stage in 5 minutes. I couldn’t stand seeing him cry, or upset. I lifted his head up and looked at him. “Tony, what’s wrong?” I asked him. He gave me a look and grabbed my arm “that.” He whispered. I pulled it back and nodded “I get it, I understand.” I said “Don’t ever worry about that again, I have you guys, I won’t do it again” I continued. He looked up at me and smiled “Alright. Promise” He asked.
“Courtney, Its time” Esther said and smiled at me. “Promise” I shouted as I walked on to the stage. I took my place on stage and started talking to the audience. “Guys, if you believe that your dreams are far to reach, don’t give up, have faith, and reach for it. I learned that the hard way. Now, this song is all about that.” I started singing and halfway through the song I looked over at Vic and he smiled at me. I finished the song and moved to the next one.
After playing our three songs, we got off and let the boys take the stage. This time there was no words exchanged just glances. They all took their places on stage; Vic looked at me and winked. I could tell he was planning something when Jaime slightly laughed.
“Okay guys, we have an announcement.” Vic said “I know some of you will hate it, and others will be happy for us. But I’m seeing someone again” He continued. I noticed the crowd get a little reckless.
“Whoa guys!” He said, Tony walked off and grabbed my arm and pushed me on stage, I walked over to Vic. “This is the girl! The lead singer from Quiet whispers” He continued. The crowd started yelling and Vic motioned for Tony to take me off stage.
They played a song and finally Jaime stopped. “Vic, before I play anymore, I want to announce something. Guys, I’m taken too” I pushed Esther on stage and she pulled me with her. I knew the look she gave me, she didn’t want to die. She took her place next to Jaime and I took mine next to Vic. “Yes, I’m seeing the screamer from Quiet whispers” Jaime said before the crowd could do anything Jaime gave Esther a look, I guess She knew what it meant, because when she walked past me, she grabbed my arm and pulled me off stage.
They played their last few songs and got off stage. They noticed that Esther and I weren’t standing near each other talking. I was off in another corner playing on my phone, and she was sitting on the ground somewhere else. They looked at each other and split up. Vic and Mike took me back to their bus, while Tony and Jaime took Esther back to our bus.
We got on the bus and Vic sat me down. They sat on the ground in front of me.
“Okay, what happened?” Mike asked in a demanding voice. I looked up at him and sighed “She’s threatening to quit the band because of a girl she met on another fan base a few years ago. The girl wants her to return home and go to college with her.” I said and looked away.
Mike turned my faced towards him and looked at me, “What is wrong with you?! Your voice is freaking fantastic. If you need someone to do unclean vocals, Vic and Jaime would be glad to teach you.” He said seriously.
“Exactly” Vic said and looked at me with a smile. I nodded my head and looked at them. “No one is going to make you stop doing what you love” Vic said “Unless it’s yourself” He continued. I smiled at him as mike let go and I walked off the bus.
I went over to my bus and opened the door, I stepped on and Jaime gave me a horrible look and Tony got up and took me off the bus. It kind of hurt my feelings so I ran off. Tony called after me but I ignored him. My phone went off and I ignored it. I sat down on a curb and pulled out my phone.
“Courtney!” I heard Tony yell “Where are you?” I heard again.
I looked up “Tony…I’m here” I said sniffing a little. “What are you doing here?” He asked, if Vic knew I let you run off he would kill me” He continued and hugged me.
“That look you guys gave me, how you dragged me off my own bus” I said pushing him away from me. He looked at me and sighed “we weren’t done talking to her, and Jaime is a bit upset with you.” He said. I looked at him with surprise. “Why?” I asked.
He looked at me and skipped the question, “Come on, and let’s get you back before Vic freaks out.” He said getting up and reaching out his hand, I took his hand and stood up.
“Tony, you never answered me” I said and looked at him as he walked away. When we got back Mike comes up to me and grabs my hand.
“M-mike, what’s going on?!” I asked shocked. He looked back at me and kept dragging me to the bus. “It’s Vic! He’s crying!” Mike said. We got to the bus and Mike opened the door and pushed me up the stairs, and closed the doors. I heard Vic in the back, so I walked back and opened the curtain
“Darling” I said softly and sat next to him. He looked up at me. “Sweetie, Your back” He said happily and threw his arms around me, I almost fell back but I caught myself.
“Honey, what was wrong?” I said worried. “I thought you left me, I thought I did something” He said and his beautiful eyes filled with tears. “No, I would never” I said and patted his head “I love you” I continued. He looked up at me and smiled “Good, and I love you too!” He said.
I yawned and Vic gave me a stern look, I knew that look, He wanted me to sleep. I lay back on his bed, normally he would hold my hand and curl up next to me, but this time, he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close, I smiled. And we both went to sleep.
