Hi I'm back! Sorry for the delay with this chapter, life is being life and this was really difficult to write for some reason but I am finally done! Thank you all for being patient with me and I hope this chapter is to your liking! <3

I'll promise I'll try to move on to the main chunk of chapter 2 soon I promise I promise-

Also I would like to mention I released a Christmas / winter holidays one-shot:

After Crowley's dramatic declaration of how he signed onto the parenting plan without any prior consultation, [Name] didn't have much choice but to get over it as the Headmage sprinted into the horizon.

Don't be mistaken- she was preparing a lengthy earful the next time she saw that feathery bastard.

But for now, she put it aside. Instead, she focused on making the most of her rest day while Grim was in classes, under the supervision of Ace and Deuce just for today. Though really most of her day was in her pyjamas.

A day away from responsibilities and decisions.

A day for herself - not even for cleaning.

And a day she had of doing nothing - delightfully boring and simple compared to a stressful Overblot; bitter teenage boys; and those haunting thoughts of how her memories could be slipping through her fingers each day.

However, like all good things, [Name]'s rest day came to a ceremonious end as Grim returned. Slamming Ramshackle's door open against the wall so hard it startled the girl from her book.

As the hinges had not been repaired and were still rusty and broken, another slam followed as it toppled over, splaying out a cloud of dust. She peered her head around at the doorway, snickering as Grim growled and cursed as he heaved the heavy wood back up into place.

"Bad day?"

"Don't wanna talk about it," Grim grunted as he leapt onto her lap, kicking her book from her hands with his hind leg. While ignoring her pout, he curled up into a fluffy grey bagel in her lap and his head plopped onto the back of her hand. For ear scratches, of course. "Ugh, it was such a shit day."

"Must be bad if the mighty Grim goes silent on their henchman... for once," she remarked. Even so, she scratched Grim behind his warm ears. "Are you sure you don't want to talk about it?"

"Hmmm, now that you say..."

Classic Grim, he could never say no when talking about himself and he proved it to her as he went on a long, prickly spiel. [Name] shouldn't have been surprised that the worst thing Grim said about his day was his food had been stolen. Well... "stolen."

"I am having trouble understanding this," she clapped her hands together, chopping them down to sort things straight. "You traded this special sandwich for bean paste bread and then proceeded to get upset about it even though you willingly gave this random "hyena" guy your sandwich?"

"Hey! Not just any special sandwich! This was the deluxe menchi katsu sandwich !"

"Yeah, I am not even gonna pretend like I know what that is."

"Well, you should! And I didn't trade it, I gave it to this stupid hyena guy and I didn't even mean to!" Grim snapped, fur bristling and flapping out his tiny arms in a furious frenzy, almost whacking her in the face. "My body just moved on its own..."

"That does sound strange and it definitely doesn't sound like you. You don't share food with me half the time," [Name] said, a finger lingering on her cupid's bow as she contemplated her little buddy's words. "A sandwich stolen from a hyena guy... Why does he sound familiar?"
