"You have fought valiantly...but in vain. I do not wish this. Every drop of magical blood spilled is a terrible waste. I, therefore, command my forces to retreat. In their absence, dispose of your dead with dignity. Harry Potter, I now speak directly to you. On this night, you have allowed your friends to die for you...rather than face me yourself. There is no greater dishonor. Join me in the Forbidden Forest and confront your fate. If you do not do this...I shall kill every last man, woman, and child who tries to conceal you from me."
Taken back, Y/n and Draco stared into each other's eyes.
"We need to find them and make sure they're-" Y/n stopped talking, placing her hand on her stomach before she leaned over and threw up.
"You alright?" Draco whispered.
"Yeah, I've been feeling off lately," She shrugged, wiping her mouth with her sleeve. After a moment, she looked back at him, "We need to find them-" She was cut off again but this time not by herself.
"Draco!"
The two of them looked over at some of Draco's group.
"Lucius needs you right now." His voice was intimidating.
The two of them stood up, Draco reached for Y/n's hand.
"Alone."
The two of them faced each other, Y/n's stomach dropped.
"Meet me in the Great Hall," He whispered, cupping her face in his hands.
She placed her hands on his, staring into his eyes, worry taking over her. She could feel the tears forming in her eyes. She couldn't comprehend why she felt such worry.
"I love you Y/n," Draco whispered, his eyes bouncing back from her eyes to her lips.
"I love you forever, Draco," She replied just as the two of them leaned in and locked their lips with one another.
"Draco!" The man yelled again.
Leaning away from one another, Draco used his thumb to wipe the tear from her cheek, "I'll be back, stay safe," He whispered, dropping his hands before he turned and went off with the other death eaters.
Standing still for a moment, her head exploded with thoughts.
"Draco, wait!" She shouted, running through the dark dusty air, trying to find him.
Her heart beat out of her chest, sobs threatening to let loose, her hands pushed back the hair from her face, she couldn't find him, "Draco!" She sobbed, her legs begged her to rest, her head pounded, the pain from her nose throbbed.
Making her way into the castle, people fled through the halls and stairs, she couldn't see over anyone, she could hardly even make it a few feet inside.
Placing her hands on her heart, she stood for a moment, trying to calm her breathing but everything was spinning, everyone around her was running and shouting, spells were still going off.
The last thing she could remember was the wall to her left exploding.
--------------------------
"Fuck," Y/n whispered as she immediately reached for her head.
Opening her eyes, she realized where she was had been completely silent.
Using the strength she had, she sat up and looked around. She was in the Great Hall surrounded by dozens of dead people.
Walking through the destroyed Great Hall, she noticed people she knew, some she never spoke to and some she did, her heart twisted at the sight of Fred Weasley.
"They didn't die in vain," She could hear someone shout from outside.
Clutching her side, she made her way around the destroyed castle, making her way to where everyone was.
"Harry's heart did beat for us! For all of us!" Neville yelled.
Harry was dead, Y/n's stomach dropped.
As she stared at his limp body that dangled from Hagrids arms, tears streamed from her eyes.
"This is not over!" Neville yelled just as he pulled the sword of Gryffindor from the sorting hat.
Everything happened so fast, Harry lept from Hagrids arms, leaving everyone in shock.
"Confringo!" Harry shouted, directing his wand at Nagini.
Panicking, Y/n looked around, searching for a sign of Draco just as Neville flew past her.
Breaking from her stance, she ran over to Neville, "holy shit, are you alright?" She asked, holding a hand out for him to take.
"I've been better, really..." Neville sighed just as he took her hand, "Shit, Y/n-" Neville whispered.
Furrowing her eyes, she stared at him, "what is it?"
The boy she'd once been staring at was now surrounded by a crowd of people.
"Neville, where'd you get the sword?" Someone yelled.
As her heart raced she quickly glanced around the room, "Draco?" she shouted.
No one looked at her, she felt like she was trapped in a dream.
She sprinted from the room and began to race through the abandoned halls every so often screaming his name in vain.
She found herself back where she started, tears falling from her face, soaking the concrete beneath her.
Looking off into the distance, she noticed everyone was gone, even Voldemort.
Her eyes met with Hermione who'd been smiling just a moment before.
"Hermione-" She placed her hands on Hermione's shoulders, "I need to find Draco," she sobbed.
Hermione stayed put as she bit down on her lip, "Y/n-"
Taking a deep breath in, her heart sank, "No."
Breaking away from Hermione, Y/n didn't get far before she spotted blonde hair peeking out beneath the broken concrete.
"No!" She yelled, rushing over, trying to lift the concrete.
"No. No. No." She fell to her knees.
What was then relief from Voldemort's death was replaced with pity and sadness.
Sitting with her hands cupping his head, her tears fell onto his blank face.
"No!" She screamed, she hoped he'd open his eyes just one last time.
Her head fell forward onto his. Nothing felt real, she sat for what felt like an eternity wishing that any second she'd wake up from this dream.
"Y/n, we need to get you cleaned up," She felt a hand on her shoulder before she shrugged it away.
----------------
She sat with his limp body as the sun shone through the sky and the birds came out to sing.
Her face was stained with blood and tears, not a single thought went through her mind.
It was just quiet.
