"Iseul, is she our daughter?"
I'm trying hard to be patient here. I think I'll be losing my mind any moment. Why isn't she answering?
Did she lie when I asked her before? Did she intentionally hide the fact that I got her pregnant and we have a child?
"Hi! We're gonna take baby Da-eun to her private room now." I heard the nurse announce. I looked at her and saw she was staring at me. I avoided the gaze and put on my mask.
"Ah yes. Let's go." Iseul suddenly said. I grabbed her arm when she was about to leave me.
"Jungkook, let go. Please. This is not the right time for this." She whispered, almost pleadingly, and removed my hand. I sighed as I watch her run to Da-eun's bed.
I felt someone staring at me and saw Seojun. I returned his intense gaze. I won't back down.
I walked toward them as the nurses pushed the bed out of the emergency room.
"Jungkook---"
"I won't leave you..." I whispered. She rolled her eyes at me and walked faster, Seojun and the other woman behind her.
"Who is he?" I heard the woman ask Iseul. She just shook her head while Seojun put his arm around her shoulder.
I cleared my throat and I saw Iseul slowly remove Seojun's arm. I foolishly smiled to myself.
We arrived at the private room in no time. The baby was carefully transferred to her bed and Iseul went to her side at once. I watched her caress the baby's face. I want to walk closer but held myself.
"Hey, Iseul, listen. I know I said I'll get you things from the apartment but I'm suddenly being called to the office..." I heard Seojun say.
"It's okay, Seojun. I can go and get them myself. I need to clean up and all." Iseul answered.
"Okay. I'll try to go back later." Seojun said. He caught my eyes and nodded at me before getting out of the room.
"Sungmi, I will go to the apartment quickly, okay? Please order yourself some food. Do you want me to get your things as well or do you want to get them on your own later when I come back?" I heard her talking to the woman she was with.
"Yeah, I could go later when you're back."
"Alright. I'm heading out now." Iseul started to walk toward the door where I am standing. She looked at me once she was near me. "Kook, let's go..."
I sighed before bowing to the woman in the room. Iseul went out of the room first and I followed.
"Again, thank you for your help today." She said once we're in the lobby.
"I will help you get your things, too," I told her firmly. She looked at me and sighed.
