Chapter 6: Recall and Memories

Everything was fine. We've been classmates with May from Grade 9 and 10. I was in love with her because she was really a good friend to me. She is my everything, she barely gave colors to my life and I mean the world to her.

With that in mind, I decided to court her but it wasn't that easy since struggles keep coming up our way, to challenge our love if it will really endure. But still, we've became lovers until Grade 10. I remembered she wasn't that intelligent but I'm always willing to help her.

We're always together going home and arriving in school. Both me and May were very close with each other and there are times that I don't attend with partys or tourings of my friends because I'm always busy with her.

One day, I was alone going to school because she was feeling sick and tired. I visited her in their house.

I said, "You'll be okay."

"I hope so. The pain of this illness kept unmotivating me."

"Did you know? I read from a book that someone can't die of pain. I got fascinated to this quote, and now I decided to share it so that you'll have a strength to continue living even in the dark times, you'll still be a light in the dark." I said, comforting May.

That day I went home after visiting May, I felt the sadness that lurks in her. I wished that moment that the pain May feels was distributed to me. It is better I think if I'd sacrifice, take all the pain just to protect her.

There came a time, I was alone, walking but a few meters from school, I saw my bestfriends, Kharl, Jolmin, Joey and Scafford. We've met and they hugged me so tight that they even don't wanna release me anymore. They've missed the moments we're together as I said, when May was always with me, I never had time to have fun with them. They even noticed I'm always busy with May but they were happy with our strong relationship. Scafford told me, "Make your relationship stronger, don't let her cry and let her feel that you're always at her side no matter what happens." Scafford was broken hearted at that time while Jolmin has no plans of those. Joey doesn't really care with girls at all. He is a bit selfish and a person who always wants to be alone, and Kharl is cool. I mostly tell my secrets to him because I trust him so much and I feel he also trusts me too. I feel safe once I am hanging out with him, like a real brother for me.

No one was beside me in the classroom. May isn't present but Joey and my other friend, Zac approached me and said, "Let's be together at the back." So I followed them. Me, Jolmin, Joey, Kharl, Zac and Scafford.

Going home, we're together again but with only, Jolmin, Kharl and Zac. They said,
"Bro, be careful with everything, be the best man in our section."

I replied "Thanks for your trusts. I'll do my best to make her happy."

After class, I went home tired and took the chance to visit May again to know her condition. Even though I was exhausted from school, I still can have the strength to reach up to May, because I do really love her. So, I traveled with my bike for about 4 minutes. And I even saw Zac playing basketball with his team in a corridor but I didn't anymore appraoch him because I'm focused on going to May fastly.

As I arrived at May's, she hugged me from the door. I said, "Good you're okay now."
She replied, "Not that much but still fighting!" I got happy with what she said.

I went home late already because I've spend most of my time with May that time. Then Joey chatted me while I was traveling home. I parked my bike in a corner and picked my phone from the pocket of my jerseys to check who messaged.

Joey: "Let's go to Jolmin's house tomorrow for just casual talkings."

But I rejected it.

JohnCV: "No sorry, I'm quite busy now and maybe I can join next time."

I ended up my story with that.

"Those are the only things you can tell?" Lian's reaction. I thought she'll be thrilled with that story already but it looks like she wanted me to narrate more. Okay then, if that can make her happy, then I'll do it!

I replied, chuckling, "Those are just the good memories."
