Chapter 11: The Next Step

Being with my friends is not boring at all. In fact, I missed them. The situations we all encounter lately had became one reason why we don't budge meeting up outside just to tell our own stories and perspectives.

In order to reduce my boredom, I decided to chat Lian for a while, just to greet and reach up to her.

JohnCV: "How are you? Can you still breath despite the hard activities we've been facing?"

—sent 7:49 PM.

Lian Cervantes: "I have to. Hell week it is right?" —7:51 PM.
JohnCV: "The week totally makes me idle to further continue studying."
Lian Cervantes: "Don't quit quickly in studies. That will serve as your key to be successful."
JohnCV: "I always have that on mind."

As I further grasp the next scenarios, I continue piling up my strength to have the courage to ask Lian to join me in walking her to a park and to have a date to know her more, for her to also know me more.

The nervousness strikes upon me even though I will be inviting her just via chat.

JohnCV: "Hey, are you available tomorrow?"
My heart had beat faslty after sending this chat.
Lian Cervantes: "For what? Seems you look excited!"
JohnCV: "How did you guess I'm excited?"
Lian Cervantes: "I immediately understood it. You wanted to hang out with me right?"
JohnCV: "I was about to say it. Would you?"
Lian Cervantes: "As long as I am with you, I will."
JohnCV: "It's a perfect timing since the weather is fine. I wanted to sink in happiness and I know I can find it through you.
Lian Cervantes: "Okay I'll be coming, just be ready for tomorrow."

I decided to hang out at the backyard of my house to get some fresh air from the calm night. It's so peaceful. I starred at all the stars that are peeping from the sky which reminds me again about my good old memories with May, but I have to forget her sometimes because she's already deceased, a past memory, but I can't avoid to receive the pain from my heart once I hear her name.

Meanwhile, my brother, named Brand came to the kitchen. As I observed through the screen door of our house, but he didn't see me. He took a piece of bread from the toaster and dipped peanut butter as its spread, then headed to his room again. He was just wearing a white T-shirt and gray shorts while earphones stick both his ears.

And that's it! I went back inside the house then I noticed, I'm bored though. Like, what? I could do other stuffs than wasting my time with no routine. I laughed after realizing.

Lian was also May's best friend so I see all the memories through her. I recall all those because of Lian and now, I create a new chapter of happy moments from just a representation of my past.

Love can last long but it can break however.

Further minutes that pass, I still get bored. If I just had the power to fast forward in time. I decided to do household chores. I fixed my room, to sweep the floorings and afterwards, watch the television.

As 6:30 PM came, I decided to go towards my room, the closet to search for a good outfit for tomorrow. I picked my brown trousers and a yellow shirt.

After dressing up, Jhay, Jolmin and Joey left a message in my phone.

Jhay Antil: "What are you doing guys?"
Jolmin RamirezHD: "Chatting Scafford"
Joey: "Eating dinner"
JohnCV: "Preparing"
Jhay Antil: "For what?"
JohnCV: "I'll be going to a walk with Lian."
Joey: "Oh wow! That's great to hear. Goodluck bro."
Jhay Antil: "Goodluck to you John!"

Then I reacted heart on all those messages and pressed the left arrow button at the top left of my phone, to go out of the chat. I saw an unread message. A private message from our class president, Hasley.

HasleyJM: "On monday, you're one of the cleaners for our room. You have to bring a sponge and a soap."
JohnCV: "For what?" I replied, rolling my eyes.
HasleyJM: "You'll be needing more of those for extra cleaning in the room. You, Jolmin, Altri, Xander, Abi and Keishley."

Oh damn! Looks like I don't wanna come to school on monday. I really hate being cleaners especially through mondays. It ruins my week.

I forwarded the message to our group chat. Jolmin and Joey just laughed at Hasley's irritatable message.

Joey: "Uhhh, cleaners for monday"
JohnCV: "Exhausting really!"
Jolmin RamirezHD: "Nevermind, it's just a piece of cake."
Jhay Antil: "Hasley is always like that. Giving orders but she never wanted to help though."
Bert the comedian: "What if you don't bring any materials on monday?"
Joey: "Not gonna budge, you know the attitude of Hasley guys?"
JohnCV: "Aggresive right?"

The group chat ended up backstabbing Hasley. Truly, the next week will be exhausting and tiring. The conversation ended up with just them seeing my message. I hope they won't reveal that to Hasley, or else, I'll get doomed up.

I can't let Hasley ruin my good mood. She is actually suppose to help in cleaning which she always tasks us. As I stepped on the second layer of the stair, my brother called me through his loud voice from inside his room. I replied, "Yes?" and opened the door of his room. "Where you going tomorrows?" He asked. "To the park." I hesitately said.

He told me to be safe and enjoy!

I then proceeded going down the stairs.

I tried to chat Lian but her status says
"active 13m ago"

Hmmm... maybe she's now busy and I better nit interrupt.

Before going out the house to buy some night snacks. I made sure that the screendoor of the backyard is locked, the lights are turned off and the things are fixed tidy. I made sure everything was okay and thinking if something else was forgotten, I knew I did all those jobs successfully.

I got out of the house, locked the door and headed to a nearby convenience store. I brought keys that I can go at my own way by not distracting my brother.

It's so cold at here. I didn't bring a jacket. Nevermind, I'll just enjoy the coldness.

A few distance from my house, I've met a new neighbor in the village. I greeted her "hello" and that guy replied "hello too."

I introduced myself, "Hi, I'm John, were already 3 years living in this place. Looks like you're a transferee here."

That guy answered, "Hi, I'm Alexis, I was a former citizen in Tuzon street, but I had to transfer to a new home to walk nearer to Thomas Edison High School, that's were I study."

I got surprised she is also a student in Thomas Edison High School. "Wait, you're a student in Thomas Edison High School, I do study there!"

"Oh really?" She said, hesitating if what I said was indeed a fact.

I said "Indeed yes, I study there. I'm a grade 10 learner, section Paris."

"Paris? the capital city of France?"

"Actually our sections are full of capitals of each countries, Paris, Warsaw, Manila, Tokyo, Moscow, Cape Town and Wellington."

"I'm a grade 8 learner and...."

"I guess you're sections are scientists' surnames?" I butt in.

"Woaaahh you are really a student there. I'm in section Mendeleev." Alexis said, with a gentle smile cracking her face.

I concluded, maybe Alexis will be a close friend of mine as we've almost shared a lot but maybe sooner, we'll be constructing plenty and deeper conversations.

I can see that Alexis is like a kind and a respectful person and she's also beautiful. But of course, no one can beat Lian's beauty. t

After those, few talks, I headed straight on going to the convenience store before the night gets late.

I never told Alexis about her. It'll be a secret for the mean time.
