Chapter 26: Zac's Past

"Does it happen when you love someone, it'll go down remembering about the past you once buried in forgetness? But that maybe just be an accident or probably reminds me of something else we'll not expect to know." -Zac's first page of his diary.

After the sharing, Zac goes home with me, in the middle of a quiet road, full of trees. It's a bit awkward to think that we weren't even exchanging dialogues where it'll feel like the place is empty. We kept walking, until we've reached a coffee shop and I decided to take first a sit along with Zac. But I forgot that the pocket of my jeans are empty that made me worry! Zac also noticed I'm fidgetting and worrying so he managed to pay for our coffee at the store.

"I notice you're like...fidget or you're worrying of something?" Zac asked to me. And I slightly looked at Zac with a shy appeal. "I'm sorry but I invited you for a coffee but me myself wasn't prepared." After saying this, I looked at Zac's shoes. I felt shyness! But he answered me which I never ever expected, "Don't worry, I'll be the one to pay for the drinks we'll have." I thanked Zac alot. "How about next time I'll be doing this to you." I said. He replied, "No need, as long as you're my peer, there will no be an ultimatum."'

When we successfully got out coffees, we talked. As time passes, we shared stories and memories.  I mentioned about the death of Scafford because of the loss of his love, Theia which became the reason to take away his life. And Zac grabbed my phone surprisingly, but just to check the time. Through a straw, he drank his coffee and reacted, "It's bitter!" While I still haven't tasted it yet. I was at the period of being 'talkative' to be honest, because I was so comfortable talking with Zac at that moment. So Zac was just listening to me but later on, he thought of giving the church's statutes to me so I could be aware of the rules and system since I'm a beginner.

"I remember of Lian again. And while at the church, when Rommel was sharing, I've thought of bringing Lian also to the church. I know it's fun there and I'm sure she's gonna appreciate it." I said to Zac while I smile. Then suddenly, a group opened the door of the coffee shop before Zac sucks up his saliva to reply at me. We looked first who were the ones who managed to step in. "Oh, it's Dave, with Kyle and Sofia." Zac whispered to me while he observes how they get in, while me, I just also look. And Kyle accidentally gazed at our place, "Hey there Zac!" Kyle shouted, then Sofia and Dave gazed also at us.

Zac waved also at them and after, Zac and I, continued our soft, casual conversations and he proceeded to answer back my statement about inviting Lian to the church. "That's a good idea! And therefore, you can recruit someone else." Zac said with joy.

Brand being sweet to John:

I and Zac separated at a small intersection where he walks to the north while I headed to the west. When I got home, I removed my sweater that Zac gave and changed outfit. I had nothing to do but just sit and relax. Then came my brother, Brand from upstairs. I was currently sitting at the sofa while Brand headed to the sink and washed hands while I just observed, then nevermind.

I abolished my overthinking, yet I thought of Jolmin again. I thought of also to bring him to the church to strengthen him. I'm not anymore jealous of him because I already knew, that Lian doesn't like him.

Then while my mind is floating to nowhere, I got so surprised when my brother suddenly snapped a finger on my eyes that caused me to shatter. He joked me!

"Remove the burden in your mind, just toil in your studies for a better future. And I'll always succor you." Brand said to me and he immediately left.

"What just happened?" I asked to myself. That indeed became weird. "Burden? What burden do I have?" I can't think of any reason why he evoked those words. Perhaps, he just loves and cares for me.
