I stand there looking at the door, feeling empty when Damon went out the door. I feel a hand on my shoulder and look away from the door.
"We need to get ready." Parker says and heads upstairs. I look at the door and then head upstairs after her. I walk to the closet and open it. I pull out my dress and set it on the bed. I take off my cloths and pull my dress on. I step in front of the mirror and just stand there. This is the day I've been waiting for, the day I get to kill Mrs. Hope. I take a deep breath. I can do this. I turn and walk down the hall to Parker's room. She has her dress on and has plugged in the curling iron.
"There's electricity in here?" I ask. She nods.
"Yeah, I'm surprised." I'm surprised too. I walk over and sit in the chair at the desk. She picks up strand after strand of my hair and curls it. She sets the iron down.
"My turn."
I get up and start curling her hair.
"I wish we had makeup." She says.
"Yeah, it would help." I reply. I finish doing her hair and she rushes to the bathroom and I can hear her going through the drawers. She comes back out.
"I found some eye shadow!"
She comes up to me and starts applying it to my eyes. She stops and goes to the mirror and starts doing hers. I turn and go to Isabel's bedroom. She's all dressed and sitting on the bed.
"Do you want your hair done or anything?" I ask. She looks up and shakes her head. She stands up and walks past me.
"I will be waiting at the door."
"I'll come with you." I say. "Come on Parker!"
Parker comes out of her room and follows us downstairs. I get my gun and strap it to my thigh. I take another deep breath.
"Let's go." We walk out the door and down the street. I look around as I walk. It's really quiet. I pick up my pace.
We make it without anything happening. I walk up the steps of this really big building where the ball was being held. I walk to the door and put my hand on the knob. This is it.
