Really, Leo? You had to rub it in?
Now, Reyna was the only single one in their little 'friendship group'!

Reyna was now thinking about what Venus had said to her a while ago in Charleston - "you will not find love where you wish or where you hope. No demigod shall heal your heart" is what she had said.

Leo had really made Reyna jealous... But, then again... Maybe someone else would heal Reyna... Maybe a God ... No! Stop dreaming Reyna! She would NOT fall in love with a God! ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Reyna was starting to consider the unthinkable... Amazons or Hunters of Artemis?

Well, there is more freedom in Amazons, but that wasn't what Reyna was looking for. And she also had to consider being a Praetor. If she became a hunter, she would have to give up her position. Maybe she should wait a while to decide and she probably wouldn't ask anyone for advice - it just felt like a decision she needed to make on her own.

As usual, sleep only bought her nightmares. Well, at least Reyna calls them nightmares. She dreams about wishes that are just out of reach - things she can never have. She can never push down the feeling that - since she has been considering this for a long time - she would be letting the whole camp down. Leaving so she can serve as a lieutenant of Artemis, swear off men, hunting monsters and accepting immortality.
She needed someone to talk her out of it, but she wasn't planning on telling anyone.

Her head was pounding. She was going back to Camp Jupiter tomorrow. Praying for at least one good night of sleep, she laid down. No such luck.

Tossing and turning. Images. Disturbing images. Clouds of evaporated blood. Rivers of wailing, pain, fire, lost dreams and lost memories. Acid air. Billions of broken shards of black glass. Fissures in the ground. Steep cliffs. Lots and lots of monsters. Sometimes there would be the occasional bubble of transparent skin, revealing a monster, curled up and slowly forming. In some places the ground looked like a beating heart. In other places the ground was like mush and the trees were just large and tall stems. There was only one place like this. Worse than the underworld.
Tartarus.
Only one person could have shared these images with her. One of the many people who she had shared her strength with. He rested all his sorrow on her shoulders, but she took it willingly.
Nico Di Angelo.

Sunlight streamed through the window of the guest bedroom in the Big House since Bellona was a Roman goddess so the didn't have a cabin. Gods she was tired. She looked at the alarm clock on the bedside table and it took a while for her eyes to focus.
9:26
WHAT?! Reyna never slept in this late! The whole of Camp Jupiter would be up by now and she still needs to confirm who is coming back with her.
After she got dressed, Reyna quickly made her way outside and into the amphitheatre where the campfire is usually held. All the campers had gathered around and Frank came to stand next to her.
Everyone was chatting, so Chiron pounded his hoof on the ground three times.
"Heroes, it is time for the Romans to go back to their own camp, but they can stay for a little longer. Reyna and Frank will be escorting the travellers back to their camp. I assume the Greeks are welcome to travel along with you?"
"Absolutely" Reyna replied.
"Very well. You will be leaving at mid-day, so go and pack your stuff if you wish to go and we wish you a safe journey. Meet at 11:30 at half-blood hill to say your goodbyes.

Reyna made her way back to her room and threw all her spare clothes into a backpack one of the campers had given her. She tidied up the room she was staying in and, before she knew it, it was already 11:27.

At half-blood hill, Roman and Greek campers were saying their farewells and Percy and Annabeth were thanking everyone for everything. Hazel had her bag packed and was coming back to Camp Jupiter with Frank.
Reyna stood, encouraging all the campers.
"Alright everyone, it is time to go back to Camp Jupiter!" Chiron said.
"Hey, Reyna!" Someone called.
Percy came running towards her. He looked somewhat happy, but his eyes showed otherwise. She couldn't imagine what he had gone through, especially when Reyna hadn't even been in Tartarus, but she was totally freaked out by her nightmare.
"Thank you so much for bringing back the statue, we wouldn't have made peace without you" he said.
"It was my pleasure" she replied, "I hope to see you again soon."
"You too"
Reyna turned and marched down the hill, she glanced back and looked at Percy.
She could see his shattered soul behind his beautiful sea green eyes.
