Percy was sitting at the bottom of canoe lake, talking to the Naiads, when hands gripped him and pulled him up.
Rachel.
She looked pretty relaxed, with her light blue tank top and her jeans that have drawings all over them.

"Hey" Percy said.

"Chiron would like to see you." She said.

"Ok, no 'Hi Percy! How was saving the world?!' ?" He said, mimicking her voice.

"Whatever, Chiron wants to see you. He says it's important." She replied, a smile tugging at her lips.
She grabbed his arm and led him towards the big house.

When he got there he sat down in one of the chairs opposite from Chiron and Rachel stayed standing.

"Percy," Chiron started, "we have important matters to discuss. Your mother, perhaps?"

What? How could he? He totally for got about his mother! He needed to go and pay a visit!

"... Oh..." Was all he could say.

"Well, we think it wise that you go and see her. She needs to know that you are alright. She hasn't seen you for about 9 months." Rachel said.

"I feel so bad. With the whole war thing going on,I had hardly thought about her at all." Percy said.

"It's ok, as long as you go to see her." Chiron said.

"When?"
"Tomorrow. You should stay for a couple of days, too. So, I suggest that you go and pack."

"Ok, thank you Chiron."
Percy stood and left the room, as if he was in a trance.

As he threw spare clothes into a backpack, he imagined of what his mother would say. She would miss him, without a doubt, but she would have a lot to say to him.

The next morning, after he said goodbye to Annabeth, he made his way to Half-Blood hill, where Argus was driving him to his mother's apartment in the Delphi strawberries van. After another sleepless night, he wasn't feeling too great, but he was keen to go and see his mum for the first time since he went missing.

When they stopped in front of the familiar apartment building, Percy got out and ran up the stairs to his mums floor. He stood just outside the door, took a deep breath then knocked. Surprisingly, Paul, his stepdad, opened the door.
He just stared at Percy.

"Paul, who is it?" Asked a voice from inside.

Then he saw her. Sally Jackson. His mum.

"... Percy..." She said so quietly it was barely audible.

Then she rushed forwards and enveloped him in a warm, bone-crushing embrace. Then she started to cry and Paul came over and wrapped his arms around them both. They stood like that for what seemed like forever, until Paul let go.

"Let's sit down and talk" Paul said.

Sally squeezed him a little bit tighter then released him.

"We have a lot to talk about" she said.
