Two months later - October (Percy's seventeenth birthday has already passed)

Annabeth had scared the living daylight out of her siblings, who were peacefully sleeping in the cabin (except for Annabeth) until they were suddenly awoken by a blood-chilling scream.

In her nightmare, the atmosphere was hot and humid, yet she was shivering. The blood-red clouds hung low and the ground was mushy. The acid air was slowly making it harder to breathe and boils were popping up all over her arms.
She was back in Tartarus, no doubt, but only one question made her panic. Where is Percy?

"Percy?" She called out.

"... Annabeth..." He replied dreamily, "... I'm right here... Annabeth..."

The voice kept going on and on, but whenever she followed it, it drifted further away until the voice stopped calling.
"Percy? Percy?! Why did you leave me? You promised! Where are you?!" She said frantically. She was starting to panic.
Then the voice came back.

"... Annabeth..." He said.

"Annabeth" he was showing a little emotion now.

"Annabeth!"

She was shaken awake and the first thing she saw was Percy's concerned eyes staring back.

"Percy?!" She started to cry now.

Percy held her as the tears came streaming. She was unable to stop them.

"I am never going to leave you, Annabeth." he said in a soothing tone. "It was only a nightmare."
Slowly, she drifted back to sleep.

When she opened her eyes again, sunlight was streaming through the windows of her cabin. Her siblings were nowhere to be seen. She checked the alarm clock.
10:03 am
Wow... She has slept right through breakfast at the dining pavilion.
Wait a minute... She slept through breakfast?!? She raced out of bet and got hastily dressed then ran out the door.

The demigods were going about their usual activities. Annabeth walked to the dining pavilion and grabbed an apple out of the fruit bowl on the table that Chiron, Mr. D and sometimes Grover sit on. Then she made her way to the sword arena, where Percy would probably be.
Sure enough, as she neared the arena, the heard the metal clang of sword-meeting-sword and she could hear Percy's voice instructing other younger and inexperienced campers. It looked like he was teaching them the disarming technique - the first technique that Luke taught him.

He didn't notice Annabeth come in, but she preferred it that way. She could watch him interact and teach other half-bloods. She sat down and watched for a while.
After about 15 minutes, Percy glanced over and smiled. He knew she was here. With a wave of his hand, he motioned for her to come over. She stood and walked up to the group.
"For those of you who don't know, this is Annabeth, head of the Athena cabin." He said.
"Hey" Annabeth waved her hand.
"She will be teaching you how to use a dagger." He stepped back.
And so, Annabeth started giving the young demigods lessons on how to attack monsters using a dagger using her own Drakon-bone dagger that she got from Damasen.
"Now, daggers are only for the quickest and smartest fighters..."

When the conch horn blew for lunch, Annabeth wanted to collapse. She was sweaty and tired from training. At the end of her dagger-teaching lesson, she gave an example of a full scale battle with Percy. Sure, he almost beat her a few times, but he never did because she was just too fast.
All her siblings gathered around the Athena table and got food. They scraped a portion of their meal into the fire as an offering to the gods and began to eat. There was only small conversation on their table and Annabeth's mind was soon drifting off to her imagination. What designs should she sketch? Should she have a hallway of Greek pillars going into an amphitheatre up on Olympus? She had seen amazing architecture in New Rome and she was hoping to use some ideas for re-designing Olympus.

She hardly noticed Malcolm, her half-brother, trying to strike a conversation with her.
"So... Annabeth, how is Camp Jupiter? I heard they have great architecture there..." He said, taking a bite out of his sandwich.
"It's great" she replied "I'm thinking of going there to get ideas for future buildings..."
Annabeth and Malcolm talked about architecture for the rest of lunch. Children of Athena. Go figures.
