The Bounty hunter and marshal's daughter would spend two more nights in the abandoned house that Dixie was convinced was haunted and John continued to make fun of her for it but other than to make remarks at each other they walked around on eggshells both not excepting their feelings for each other till John decided they had wasted enough days after waiting for the the storm that never seemed to slow so wearing her everyday clothes they would mount their horses and ride to the abandoned town to where they left Seth once arriving to be soaked by rain once again much to the twos discomfort
Climbing down from their saddles they walked towards the man making them question their own morals for helping him as he stood crouched next to an dug up grave a pair of skeleton feet picking out
"Huh, not talking to Seth today?" Seth spoke with a crazed laugh " The old silent treatment!" Dixie's steps flattered as she watched the man sniff the deadman's shoe making her puke in her mouth slightly especially as Seth spoke again "Oh...that's quite a stench."
"Oh god I'm gonna be sick." Dixie queasily told John who also felt repulsed by the man's latest actions
"Hey, Seth" called to him as they approached closer they both watched as the man tried to scurry away "Seth, come back here!" John growls causing the man to stop and turn back to them
"Oh hey, partner. I was just looking for ya." Seth said with an anxious tone
"Looking for me?" John asked sentence laced with sarcasm
"What, over there?" Dixie question in the same tone as she slowed and John moved to be in front of the man who was trying to slowly back away
"How ya doing?" Seth questioned still backing away, John looked over his shoulder at Dixie and nodded his head towards Seth, the woman understood and moved to stand directly behind the scared man stopping him from backing up farther
"I'm good." John answered him Seth nodded before he stepped to the side
"Well... see ya later, partner." He said his voice cracking in fear as he went to walk away
Dixie went to block him but John raised his hand stopping her
"Where you going, partner?" John called out
"Nowhere." Seth answered still walking away towards the fence
"Okay," John said and moved toward the man continuing to speak "Nowhere wouldn't happen to be where that thing you're looking for is kept, would it?"
John neared the man and stood in front of him looking down at him with hard eye's making Seth's feet freeze in place
"No, sir. No, sir" Seth said and turned around to get away from the man most likely
"Come on, partner" John told him as he roughly patted his shoulder pushing him slightly as he expecting the man's reaction as Seth shoved the mans hand away from him
"Okay. I was just foolin', partner." Seth told him hastily backing away but John followed him his stance clearly showing he was tired of the man's games as Seth spoke again "Ya know the thought of that treasure does funny things to me."
