"You want to know whats been bothering me?" Thea pondered.
"Yes." Otto agreed immediately.
"It's a lot and... fucking hell its going to be harder to hide." She murmured.
"What?" Otto questioned following her as she paced the room.
"I'm a hot mess." Thea reminded him. "And this is your fault."
"What is?" Otto questioned as she continued to pace blabbering gibberish as she moved, she ran a hand through her hair. Otto stared back at her trying to understand what she was saying until she turned to face him.
"I'm pregnant." Thea blurted out and Otto stared back at her.
"Mine?" Otto needed clarification and Thea punched him. "SOrry." Otto agreed. "What's wrong then? Is this not-''
"I can't be a mother." Thea shouted. "I'm not stable. I'm a mess. I'm a mess and my children will be a mess and I'm just.. I'm just.. I can't. Okay, I'm going to fail."
"No you wont. You are a wonderful person." Otto assured and Thea choked out a laugh. "I think you are." Otto declared.
"I'm a stupid girl, I'm temperamental and moody and I can't take direction and I can already hear my mother cackling when I have the baby and they are as messed up as me." Thea declared and Otto moved to her holding onto her as she sobbed.
"Does anyone know?"
"Just my mother." Thea whispered. "I havent even told Ollie yet." Otto ran a hand through her hair.
"Did you raven your mother?" Otto pondered.
"I have known since... well the day you were sacked I think... I did a test with my mother and she was satisfied and... well I'm late...."
"Thea that was moons ago." Otto declared.
"I didnt know how to tell you." Thea declared.
"How about just like you did, blurt it out. Gods- are you okay? How are you feeling?"
"I'm a mess and this baby is going to be a mess." Thea declared. "I'm a stupid naive little girl and my mother was right, I'm going to fail, I always seem to fail. I can't grow the fuck up." Thea whimpered.
"Hey, hey, hey," Otto held her teary face in his hands. "You're anything but a naïve little girl. You're a woman who has been hurt by someone that was supposed to protect you." Otto declared. "You're a woman with doubts, and that's allowed for any age, I doubt, I doubt all the time about lots of things. But Thea, Thea." He pressed a kiss to her forehead and her eyes slowly drifted up his chest to meet his soft gave. "Thea, you just have to let me help you through it."
"Otto-" Thea rasped. Otto leaned down, pressing his lips against the shell of her ear.
"I'm pretty smart with all this life experience I have. Trust your elders." He mused. "It's good for you." Thea choked out a laugh as she buried her head in his chest.
"I hope you don't plan on playing the 'elder' card for the rest of our lives. That is going to grow old." Thea assured.
"The rest of our lives?" Otto questioned.
"We are married... I mean the rest of your life I'm going to take a second husband after you pass, a younger man clearly." Thea mused and he wiped at her cheek. "I don't know how I got so lucky with you Otto. Most would have run the other way by now," Thea informed him honestly. "but I'm not letting you go."
"Just think," He whispered kissing her cheek. "You may be in your prime while I'm using a walker, but that's too bad. You get this old man through thick and thin. Disease and health..."
"I'm not good with elderly." Thea reminded him. "I would sooner end things for you. A mercy of course."
"Of course." Otto agreed as his head fell back a laugh on his lips. Her hand trailed down his chest with a sigh of relief it truly was a weight off her chest but a weight on her stomach would be growing and growing large soon enough. Otto smiled back down at her holding her at arms length to get a better look at her. "Have I told you how gorgeous you look?"
"I like to hear it, it helps my ego." Thea agreed. "I dont know what the next time will be that I get to wear it." Thea added. "It's already tight on the stomach."
"Then lets get you out of it." Otto agreed.
"Yes." Thea agreed without hesitation. But she held out a hand. "I know nothing about babies and giving birth. You have many children-"
"I didnt birth them myself." Otto reminded her and she swatted a hand at him.
"I know that but... like... how does it work?"
"How does what work?" Otto questioned. She waved a hand around her stomach.
"This, this little situation growing inside me. Keep up Otto."
