"So if you're wondering why I look like shit," Adrian offered.

"I wasnt." Thea corrected.

"I don't know how you handle it. Being the center of attention all the time. It's exhausting. Everyone trying to cater to me, walking on eggshells around me, worrying about me," Adrian remarked. He faked a flu to get out of any more possible matches and now he was getting all the attention making sure he wasnt dying of phenomia.

"You are so brave, so fucking inspiring." Thea lied, she knew he was faking, he had no sneezed once and she caught him sneaking out the fucking window last night.

"Oh mother... I'm scared, because then I wouldn't be brave and inspiring." Adrian was trying to keep up his little ruse and failing.

"They all just love you so much." Thea agreed.

"Yeah. That's the hard part." Adrian teased.

"I don't want to overstep... but have you considered... being an asshоlе?" Thea pondered and adrian snorted out a laugh. "That's my strategy. I like to be just enough of a bitch that if it were to come out I might die, no one's upset. They're just sort of like, 'Cool, when?'' Thea smirked back at him. "I know you are faking." Thea added.

"I'm not I'm very- cough, cough-"

"It doesnt count if you say the word cough dingus." Thea countered.

"I just-"

"I know and I already made otto swear he wouldnt marry anyone off, just because Roy and Mia are true loves and blah, blah, blah, doesnt mean you need to be wed right now. Just be young... but you are older than I and I am happily married with two- no three, maybe six children that I like. Five on a bad day when you are pretending to be sick."

"Thanks mum." Adrian answered. "I'm glad Pops has you, you clearly make him a better man."

"Clayton, you're a young man." Otto remarked.

"Mm-hmm." Clayton agreed.

"You've seen the horses in heat, right?" Otto questioned.

"What? No. Maybe... Is it okay if I did?" Clayton countered.

"Never mind." Otto whispered.

"Okay." clayton agreed confused.

"You have a penis." Otto decided.

"Yuck." He looked down at his covered cock

"A woman has two components." He waved a handed from chest to crotch. "Time is an emotion. Don't rush."

"Dad, um... ... is this the sex talk?" Clayton questioned.

"I hope so. You tell me." Otto rasped.

"I never thought you'd want to talk about this, but I-I'm definitely going to be having sexual intercourse I dont know when, but one day definitely." Clayton agreed.  "and I think that I would both love to talk to you about that decision."

"You... you want me to have the... the talk with you and your future girlfriend?" Otto countered.

"And it would be really nice if Mum could be there, too." Clayton added.

"Absolutely. Yes." Otto agreed.

"Yeah?"

"Yes. This should happen to your mother, too."

"Robbie my love!' Thea coed opening her mouth to mimic Robbie. 'You can't just hold it in your mouth you have to eat.' Robbie smiled up at her the berry falling from her lips. 'You stinker!' Thea said flipping her around and kissing Robbies toes. Robbie shrieked with laughter.

"Thea, my love." Otto said popping his head in.

"Hey," Thea answered.

"Um, we are going to have a talk with one of the boys... about sex." Otto remarked and Thea slowly turned to him.

"Are we?"

"He requested you be there because you know thats its like... and it would be really nice... really nice." Otto agreed.

"Weird... okay... I never got a sex talk." Thea remarked. "You just do the thing."

"Just do it." Otto agreed.

Roys name day was agonizing. Just kidding, but he was taking forever to open the last present and Thea wanted to put Robbie to bed, it was past his bed time but no RObbie needed to stay up with Lottie, the big kid that he was.

Roy was at the final present and he sat down on the massive ottoman positioned at the end of Rheas chair. He sat the present down on his lap and smoothed his palms over the crinkly wrapping paper. Yes, he was still drawing this out—he was an asshole — but he was also processing the fact that this really was the last name day as a single man. Next year he would be married, maybe have a kid of his own, that was a scary thing to think.

There was no way he could do this without taking at least a few seconds to say thank you to his youth, and his bachelor name days of eating sushi off of strangers.

The air shifted behind him as his Lottie scooted forward, wrapping her arms around him from behind before she laid her chin on his shoulder.

"Open it up!" Lottie demanded. Thea knew what it was. Otto had a long talk with her about it and she agreed, that Roy should have such a precious family heirloom.

He slid his fingertips under one fold of the wrapping paper, unsticking the tape, and repeated the process until the paper fell away in his lap, revealing a little box. He lifted the lid, to reveal the mystery present, and started to cry just the slightest.

"It was your mothers." Otto remarked and Roy smiled down at the ring.

"Thanks Pops. Mia is going to love it." Roy agreed.

"I'm proud of you." Otto remarked before looking to Adrian.

'This is Roy's name day, we don't need to be proud of me." Adrian assured.
