Over the course of the day Izuku, Kirishima, and Tetsu traveled the back roads. Eijirou told stories to the boy, and Izuku would make jokes. The pup rode with the redhead, seated in front of him on top of the horse. He enjoyed all the stories and the easy atmosphere around the two adults, and they felt the same way. Tetsu was easily amused, and when they stopped to finally rest and eat the boy played tag with Eijirou as Izuku set up blankets.
Izuku watched the two boys have fun and something in him always felt warm when Kirishima would play with the child. Tetsu would giggle everytime he was tagged and Eijirou would always dart away with a goofy grin.
"Can't catch me!" He would taunt and the little boy would always roll his eyes. Izuku found it rather cute and his thoughts would always wander. He thought about Kirishima and how good of a father he would be. He'd imagine his pup looking just like him, with that cherry red hair and bright fire opal eyes. But sometimes he'd think about this imaginative kid having his freckles or his forrest green eyes, but he'd always push away the thought.
"Kiri! Tetsu! Let's eat something, yeah?" Izuku called and the boys stopped in their tracks. Tetsu rushed over and hugged the Omega's legs jumping up and down with excitement. Izuku looked down lovingly before playing with his silver hair.
"Can I have one of the sweet buns?" Tetsu chirped and Izuku laughed. In a span of a few hours the child was practically brand new. His personality flipped on a dime and the prince wondered if it was because he felt safe around them. The thought comforted the Omega as Kirishima chuckled at the kid.
"At least have a carrot first," he smiled and the boy pouted but didn't say anything when the redhead reached into the burlap sack and pulled out their stash of food. He handed the tiny pup a carrot which he scarfed down without tasting it.
"Don't eat so fast, you'll get a tummy ache," Izuku fretted but the boy just smiled up at him. Kirishima laughed but handed the child a sweet bun anyway. Tetsu grabbed it happily before sitting on the blanket to eat. The Alpha then handed the greenette the other one and Izuku bit his lip.
"What about you? That's the last one," the Omega frowned and the redhead grinned before reaching and easily split the sweet bun in half. He brought the sweet treat to his mouth before giving a cheeky smile.
"Happy?" The Alpha teased and Izuku huffed playfully.
"Very," he replied.
Sooner than they all liked the sun slipped out of the sky making way for a bright moon. They finished their food quickly before settling on the blanket together. They wrapped Tetsu in the thickets blanket to keep him from the cold as the child settled inbetween the two adults.
"Can you tell me a bed time story?" Tetsu asked and Izuku looked at Kirishima but the Alpha shook his head. He glanced down at the pup and yawned loudly.
"I've told stories all day, how about we ask Izuku to tell a story?" The prince narrowed his eyes playfully at the Alpha but Tetsu turned his big puppy eyes on the greenette and he complied. Izuku thought back to the story about the dragon from his childhood and he settled himself against the child. He started the story just like his mom did for him.
"In a land not far from our own," Izuku began and Tetsu curled against the small frame of the Omega as he closed his eyes. Izuku told him the tale of the dragon and how he traveled around looking for a new home but instead found a pretty girl and returned to his mother. He read off the story in his mind thousands of times, and remembered the last phrase clearly.
"You befriended men my son, no other dragon can say that. It seems your adventure has just started." The Omega finished and Tetsu was fast asleep, snoring softly as his tiny chest lifted up and down in time with his breathes. Kirishima smiled over at the greenette with his large form hugging the boy to his chest protectively.
