The next morning went off without a hitch. Izuku got up extra early to fetch something to eat. Using his bow he caught them all a rabbit and made a tiny fire so he could roast it. Tetsu and Kirishima didn't wake till after the rabbit was finished cooking and the three ate the best meal they had in days. They cleaned up the blankets and set off once again toward the border.
The Omega glanced at the map and smirked to himself. The border to the kingdom was only a few miles away and they could easily get there before lunch time. The Alpha and Omega kept sneaking glances at each other the entire ride but Tetsu was giddy to find out where they were going.
Eijirou entertained the pup the entire ride, telling him jokes and about his family. The two really got along and Izuku felt pride swell in his heart.
Soon the forrest moorland faded away and they entered a sandy dessert. The sun boiled above them so they striped down their clothes so they didn't have sleeves. The prince noticed figures on the horizon but he didn't panic, surly they wouldn't give him trouble. The horses neighed and shook their large heads as the neared the border. Large soldiers in metal armor stood by their posts with long swords at their hips. Izuku gulped nervously, tempted to grab his own sword but resisted the temptation. Eijirou swerved his horse so they were side by side, sensing the Omega's nervousness. Even Tetsu kept quiet as they neared the guards. When they got close enough a soldier with dark black hair stepped forward. His piercing blue eyes made Izuku stare at him longer than he should've but he couldn't take his eyes off of them. Something about them felt familiar but he stopped when the soldier stuck out his hand.
"Hault," he commanded and the three stopped the horses. Up close Izuku noticed large purple scars over the guards chin and arms but if he had more the armor covered them. The soldier narrowed his eyes suspiciously before approaching the horses with a grin.
"What can I do for you?" The greenette was surprised at his cool tone. He took in a breath scenting the Alpha pheromones all over him.
"I was sent by Todoroki, I must see Enji. It's urgent," Izuku stated with a firm tone and the Alpha cocked a brow. The Omega pulled the note from one of his pockets and handed it to the soldier. He scanned it over with those blue eyes not even blinking. When he was done the guard looked up at Izuku with a suspicious glare but waved him forward.
The guard didn't say anything but they followed him without asking any questions. The guard mounted a brown horse before turning the reins and flapped them so the horse jolt forward at a run. Izuku was shocked at the speed but followed suit. Kirishima hugged Tetsu close to his stomach before sending his horse after them.
"Keep up!" The guard shouted and Izuku narrowed his eyes. Something told him that the guard thought what he read was important. Izuku may have saw the note but didn't bother to read it. He blinked, feeling stupid at not reading the note given to him. But it didn't matter cause he didn't even have it anymore.
The horses galloped along, throwing sand into the air making sandy dust clouds behind them. Izuku knew where the castle was but didn't think it was so far. The rode for maybe an hour before sand finally turned to a peachy stone. The guard slowed and the they followed his lead.
Just passed the stone path was a village. Music filled the air as people dance in the street with children playing a game of catch. The village was surrounded by trees, with mountains hiding in the background. Izuku studied their surroundings with awe. He had never felt so alive seeing such happy people around him. The air felt more breathable and the atmosphere was friendly. People waved at him as they passed and he waved back with a smile. Eijirou just watch the guard in front of him as Tetsu clung onto the saddle.
Once they had gotten to the edge of the village they saw it. The castle was huge, it towered over them with stone walls and banners of the Southern flag. Izuku was in awe at the cleanliness of it all. The guard stopped, jumped off his horse and motioned for them to do the same.
Eijirou helped Tetsu off his horse and Izuku picked him up so he was attached to his hip.
