Izuku and Church walked for a long while. It was just passed midday when the greenette got tired and stopped for some water that gushed down the side of the gorge. The Omega was quickly relieved of the weight of Church the cat because he had jumped down to sniff at a yellow dandelion the grew between two rocks.
"Okay Church," Izuku slurped up some more water from his hands before shaking the droplets off his fingers.
"The little fairy, brownie, whatever, said you would lead me to what I'm looking for. So spill, where are we going?!" Izuku was beginning to get frustrated but the yellow eyes of Church just blinked at him. The greenette huffed before splashing his face and standing up on his feet. The cat meow and pressed his sleek body onto his knees.
"What?" Izuku gritted his teeth, knowing that being angry at the cat would solve nothing. Then that when Church perked up, he stiffened as his coat bristled. Izuku noticed this and placed his hand where his sword should be bit forgot it had broken back at the gorge.
"Church, what is it?" The cat simply meowed before jumping up and padded toward a separate path. Izuku thought it was a trick of the light but the greenette thought he saw dark blue dust and Church was following it. Was this what he was waiting for? The prince practically skipped toward the cat and smiled while doing so. Church lead him up a few steep hills on the mountain than the was the rocks. Church climbed them easily while Izuku had trouble, they were large stones carved out threw years of rainfall. They were like stepping stones, one just slightly larger than the other. But luckily, Church was patient and turned around to wait for his new friend.
Threw a lot of difficulty the Omega was able to climb them, and once he was at the top he could've cried. The dead wasteland ahead would put people off but the Prince knew where he was. He pulled out the map to confirm and found the piece completely intact, roads and all. Reading the map Izuku was thrilled to see he was right, he was just outside the mines. The greenette would've howled with joy but found it logical not too. Instead he picked up the cat and gave him gentle strokes on his head.
"Goodboy Church," he cooed then allowed the cat to hop down so he could lick his paw. Izuku panned around and stiffed the fresh air hoping to see the shapes of his friends come over the horizon but he didn't see anything. The greenette was a bit disappointed but Church attempted to comfort him by weaving in between his legs and that made Izuku feel a bit better to know he wasn't alone. But when the prince turned back around the feline was nowhere to be seen.
"Church?" Izuku called quietly but found it odd that the cat would leave him like that.
"Where'd you go?" Izuku looked threw the tall grass and around a few rocks. Behind the third one the Omega caught sight of ruffling feathers and figured the little guy was hungry.
"Church you-" the prince started but was quickly silent when he stared into the deep set eyes of some large bird-like creatures. It cawed loudly before shuffling his large black wings and pushed itself into the sky. The Omega took a step back looking up at this demon looking monster, it's brain was hanging out of it's head but it held the body of a human. Only it's arms and mouth resembled a bird.
"Shit!" Izuku booked it running in a whole new direction while the monster gave chase and the game of cat and mouse began. The prince ran blind into the wasteland making sure to duck under dead trees and dirt patches as the creature swooped with it's talons attempting to swipe Izuku up. The Omega felt like a coward just running but knew he had nothing to defend himself with and had no other options.
The prince ran until he found a large dead tree with hole small enough for him to squeeze under, any later the greenette would have been dead because the creature squawked as it reach threw the hole. It fell short and Izuku curled into the corner keeping his thoughts in order for the means of escape but the giant creature was large enough to create a problem. Anytime opening Izuku saw was only a second long before the creature came into view.
