"Remember what I told you." My Cupcake says as we walk to my next class, gym. Luckily at this school, they don't make us change, all we need is a pair of sneakers, I'm not wearing any today, but its okay, it's my first day.
"Don't trauma dump on new people, like how I did with you?" I recall.
Apparently I wasn't supposed to tell him about my disorder, my parents dying, and my grandparents hating me after only knowing him for a few hours. Oops. But in my defense, he did the exact same thing after.
"Not what I was referring to, but that is also important." He answers, his hand still interlocked with mine.
"Uh, don't trust anyone?" I suggest. He told me a lot on our drive here.
"Well, yes. Okay, maybe I gave you a lot to remember. But I mean stay by Mia." He says, I give him a nod.
For some reason his parents gave him a Japanese name, but decided to stray from that for their second child.
The lunch bell rings and people scatter in each direction to whatever their next class happens to be.
Apparently, this school is extra fancy and has two gyms, but right now every class is in the main one playing volleyball. Whatever that is.
All eyes snap over to Cupcake and I, not only is Cupcake here when it isn't his class, but he isn't alone.
Still holding my hand, he leads me over to the pretty girl I saw in all the pictures in his house.
As Cupcake and I approach her, the group of girls she is with slowly back away, likely due to Kai's presence. At least I hope they don't hate me already and are trying to run from me.
"Mia." He says to her.
His normal tone is not as sweet as the one he uses with me.
"This must be the new girl, the whole school has been talking about the fact that you are actually talking to someone." Mia says to him, marking the first words I have heard any other student say to him all day.
Usually all he gets is stares.
"I'm Evangeline!" I tell her with a big smile. Hopefully I'm good at this whole first impressions thing.
I look behind Mia to see three girls, a blonde, a brunette, and one with black hair. I give them all a small wave.
The three girls reluctantly approach us, so I meet them halfway. I still don't understand what is so scary about my Cupcake.
"I'm Hannah." The blonde tells me with a huge smile. Her blue dress is almost as cute as my outfit. She is really tall, probably two inches taller than Kai.
"Grace." The brunette says, not even looking up from her phone. Her bangs cover her eyes, she loudly chews a piece of gum.
"Mel." The girl with black hair and dark skin says, giving me a baby smile. Her hair is super curly and it is so pretty!
"It's nice to meet you, Evan!" The blonde says, her smile still huge.
"I really prefer Evangeline." I inform her, attempting to match her huge smile.
"Evan is better." Grace tells me, rolling her eyes and popping her gum.
"But I like Evangeline-" she cuts me off.
"Just listen to us." Grace fires at me.
I go to reach for my Cupcake's hand but he's not there anymore.
A few tears leave my eyes.
He left me, just like I knew he would.
"Cupcake!" I yell louder than I should.
